Through a phased approach, the Global Business Shared Services (GBSS) Center will deliver various services within the Finance & Accounting, HR operations & Supply Chain domains.
- The General Manager - Solutions & Transitions would be responsible for designing the proposed solution for delivery of services and then to lead the rollout & set up of the Shared Service centre.
Role directly reports to : Vice President - Global Business Shared Services
Essential Qualifications:
- MBA/ Post Graduates with prior experience in SSC advisory/BPO and setup.
- Preference would be given to candidates with additional professional qualifications like CA & CMA or equivalent.
- MBAs from a premier institute, CAs of high merit.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- 11 to 13 years of relevant experience in Shared services or BPO environment.
- Experience should be across the life cycle from initial Solutioning, transition & ongoing operations.
- Exposure and significant knowledge across multiple domains - Finance & Accounting, HR, Supply Chain, Sourcing and Procurement, Analytics and Reporting, in particular
- Excellent Project Management skills and Solution creation/designing skills
- Ability to translate business needs into system/process definitions
- Adept in process mapping & documentation.
- Experienced in redesigning optimal processes (with necessary controls built in) and handling projects.
- Ability to prioritize workloads and work to tight deadlines
- Proven abilities in the areas of managing complex outsourcing programs/shared services transitions, developing effective customer relationships and developing/delivering presentations that get results
- Expert ability to successfully manage large, complex multi-tower projects across all phases from inception to implementation across various industries
- Expert presentation, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas in easy to understand business terms to all levels of management.
- Excellent interpersonal & influencing skills
- Ability to manage and lead a team through a change programme.
- Ability to constructively challenge others and get results through other people
- Experience focused on transformation aspects particularly Global Business Services, operational improvement and offshoring.
- Demonstrates working knowledge with MS-Office suite of software applications and tools, including: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project & MS-Outlook.

Key Roles/Responsibilities:
- Be the single point of accountability for all solution and transition activities.
- Support VP, SSC in conceptualizing and then take ownership of driving the execution activities
- Design transition solutions, including the development of cost estimates, staffing requirements and transition plans
- Perform all aspects of transition program management, including plan development, resource planning and allocation, tracking and improvement planning
- Lead the creation and execution of due diligence plans for new sites being considered for transition.
- Present and negotiate the transition solution to the internal stakeholders (site specific) during the planning stage.
- Plan, lead and manage the transition of identified services while ensuring effective staff utilization, (internal) customer satisfaction and tight leash on cost (of transition and ongoing service delivery).
- Manage transition governance at multiple levels during transition
- Execute the transition as per the plan
- Provide leadership to cross-functional team members involved in transition
- Ensure the Operations team meets service level commitments upon completion of transition
- Provide effective handoffs to the site Finance/Supply Chain leads (key internal customer) and General Manager Operations/Delivery prior to the end of transition
- Bring the transition to steady state by enabling the delivery team to successfully run the transitioned services
