Through a phased approach, the Global Business Shared Services (GBSS) Center will deliver many of the financial services which fall within the revenue and disbursement cycles, including: credit, collections, cash applications, payables besides general accounting.
- The General Manager’s (GM) responsibilities include leading fairly significant engagements to help execute strategy for Global Business Shared Services’ target operating model.
- The GM will be responsible for overall delivery and customer satisfaction for F&A services, interaction with site/business Finance leads, project status management and reporting, implementation approach development, implementation management, identifying further opportunities for centralization within global business shared service center and support an environment that fosters employee career development.
- The GM would be expected to ensure adherence to global policies & shared services operating procedures, work towards lowering the cost per transaction, while achieving defined service quality levels.
- This role is responsible for monitoring SLA’s and KPI’s as agreed upon by the business, providing root-cause analysis and risk mitigation action plans where gaps may arise.

Essential Skills & Experience:
- 11 to 13 years of recent experiences in various roles including shared services/global business services, finance and accounting consulting and/or operations and service delivery management. Experience in working for an outsourcing service provider or advisory services firm will be a plus.
- Significant knowledge of finance and accounting domain required. Process knowledge across all F&A areas is required.
- In-depth understanding of the ‘Procure to pay’, ‘Order to Cash’ and ‘Record to Report’ value streams with relevant experience in management of end to end Accounts payable, Accounts receivable & General Accounting/reporting processes in SAP environment.
- Expert presentation, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas in easy to understand business terms to all levels of management.
- Thorough understanding of global corporate financial practices and goals - including drivers of process costs, ability to work with internal business owners and/or service providers to ensure effective cost solutions and agreed upon service level agreements.
- Experience focused on transformation aspects particularly Global Business Services, operational improvement and offshoring.
- Significant delivery management experience, including managing teams at all project phases, exemplary track record in successful customer (internal or external) relationship management and multi-project oversight.
- Expert project management skills are required
- Leadership experience with medium to large size teams.
- Team development and management experience, including recruiting, relationship management, mentoring and utilization management.
- Experience working in a KPI-metrics environment and managing employees in this fashion
- Demonstrates working knowledge with MS-Office suite of software applications and tools, including: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project & MS-Outlook.

Key Roles/Responsibilities:
- Implement and monitor effective deployment (which envisages a phased transition by site) of the target shared service model as it relates to F&A services. After deployment, maintain accountability for service delivery
- Manage day to day operation of the Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivable & General Accounting departments within the GBSS with a view ensuring timely, accurate & reliable outcomes
- Continuously drive improvements in efficiency, effectiveness, compliance and customer service across all F&A functional teams
- Optimize people and system resources to successfully manage ongoing delivery of F&A services as per statement of work in accordance with defined service level agreements
- Identify and promote opportunities to leverage best practices and global standards within GBSS
- Complete processing on daily basis according to department KPI’s and SLA’s. Develop, regularly review and report organizational performance metrics related to the entire F&A work area, to communicate its efficiency and effectiveness
- Ensure that GBSS operates within the agreed upon accounting policies, procedures and processes to ensure consistent and accurate accounting activity and drives the deployment and execution of accounting policies, procedures and processes within the team
- Ensure that systems and procedures are in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
- With help of accounting leadership, ensure compliance with India GAAP and local GAAP (based on geographies that we operate in) accounting rules, as well as to ensure compliance with company accounting policies and processes
- Provide stewardship for SSC workplace F&A policies adapted from global, and recommend any policy-related changes on need basis
- Proactively monitor and operate a robust internal control environment
- Oversee both external and internal audit information gathering and reporting
- Ensure tax compliance as it relates to transactions processed within GBSS
- Build and maintain strong relationships with business units/sites
Oversee the team’s communications and interactions with business units/sites to ensure effective and appropriate communication occurs as required:
- Maintain team’s work engagement by providing on-site guidance and timely identification and remediation of training gaps
- Review and evaluate system tools and work flows to ensure a productive work environment while looking to enhance the degree of transaction automation to allow time for analytical efforts
- Hire, train and manage the F&A operations team. Develop and maintain a strong team environment and build strong competencies in the team
- Ensure that team members succeed and advance within career structure
- Work with other functions as necessary to resolve outstanding issues/discrepancies
- Responsible to maintain department’s spending and budgets
