POSITION SUMMARY : - Piramal Pharma Solutions is seeking a qualified Senior Manager, Business Development to join our Discovery Services Business Development team. - The Senior Manager, Business Development is responsible for securing new &amp; managing existing business in the US (West Coast) for Piramals India based medicinal chemistry services business. THIS IS A REMOTE POSITION. SEEKING APPLICANTS PRIMARILY IN THE CALIFORNIA/SANFRANCISCO AREA. - To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required : - Solid and demonstrable experience of selling medicinal chemistry, preclinical research services into biotech, mid-size and large pharmaceutical companies in the US West Coast - Sr. Scientist / Principal Scientist (Medicinal Chemistry) who have managed CRO collaborations looking to transition to a sales role. Should have a good network within US West Coast based biotech/ pharma community - Comfortable with a high degree of travel. Key focus would be California KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : - Selling Piramal Pharma Solutions Medicinal Chemistry Support (Synthesis &amp; in-vitro DMPK) &amp; Route scouting Services in the US West Coast - Identify and engage with new prospective clients and maintain existing business - Coordinate initial client visits to the Piramals Discovery Services facility in India - Prepare and deliver client proposals in collaboration with Program Managers - Negotiate agreements of sale and achieve yearly sales objectives - Managing Sales activities on a CRM platform - Contribute to the implementation of marketing initiatives including providing market information,, attending relevant tradeshows - Develop and maintain a current understanding of the external marketplace (e.g. conditions, trends and competitors) as well as internal capabilities and technologies - Maintain a current knowledge of sales and project management skills and techniques Qualifications : EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE : - Minimum requirement of a BS/ MS in any Life Sciences (Preferably Chemistry, Pharmacy.).
