Position Summary:
We are seeking a deeply motivated individual who is passionate about buy-side investment research and portfolio management. The individual will evaluate, negotiate, structure and execute new investment opportunities across a range of asset classes - equities, fixed income, real estate and alternatives. The main objective of the individual will be to create alpha, manage existing capital efficiently and guide the capital allocation endeavor of the company. He will report to COO and MD and will be part of the Investment Committee. Candidate to have potential to reach the position of CIO over a period of time.
Compensation:
Base salary commensurate with skills and experience. A component of total compensation can be based on an incentive system that depends on idea generation, investment selection and portfolio performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Above average Risk Adjusted returns
- Take a leadership role in decision making on investments in various asset classes.
- Strategically manage the capital allocation of the company and update investment committee on portfolio performance.
- Conduct thorough due diligence and investment analysis, including financial modeling, valuation review and interpreting financial information.
- Prepare, pitch and maintain detailed and compelling financial research summaries.
- Look on special market situations including arbitrage opportunities.
- Keep track of corporate announcements, current policies and study impact on Equities and Portfolio.
- Take lead on interacting with various wealth managers and assessing investment products offered.
- Train and manage team of analysts who will directly report to him.
Candidate Profile:
- Minimum of 5 years related experience with a Family Office (preferable), private investor, opportunity fund, investment bank, or other opportunistic profit-oriented investment organization.
- CA/MBA/CFA Level III from a reputed Institution.
- Must have a proficiency in fixed income and equity investments (e.g., stock and bond portfolio management) and in assessing tax implications, compliance issues & risk management challenges.
- Speculation & trading do not form part of our investment philosophy and hence need a mindset for fundamental value based investments.
- Ability to thrive when there is ambiguity, remain cool-headed when there are curve balls, and withstand the tests of a rapidly changing environment with resilience and resolve.
- High degree of honesty, integrity and strong work ethic.
- Good written and oral communication skills and the ability to provide & defend an opinion.
- Minimum age of 30 years.
- Must have experienced at-least one - bear- cycle.
