SQE Commodity Manager
Job Summary:
- You will work towards evaluating cost and quality details of the various commodities required for the research and development team and apply a strategic commodity plan to define preferred supplier base horizon within highly technical and/or contractually complex commodities.
- You will work towards influencing suppliers to optimize quality, cost, manufacturability and differentiated sustainability.
Broad Deliverables / Responsibilities:
- Providing support, expertise and involvement in new product development improvements through early involvement into product development process and completing of joint PPAP
- Imbibing the lessons learned from product families are shared with the platform team for new product development as input for prevention of repeated known issues
- Forging collaboration with suppliers to improve manufacturing processes and deploy processes and tools
- Monitoring supplier performance measurement, supplier audits and Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR)
- Identifying technological advances, avoiding obsolescence issues, and searching for special requirements or alternate manufacturers/suppliers
- Developing and ensuring implementation of process norms for management of suppliers by verification of products and services from the suppliers
- Evaluating performance of suppliers and monitor the improvement plans
- Enhancing technical capabilities of vendor through systems and knowledge upgradations
- Reviewing, analyzing and implementing results of quality audits at all locations
- Strong knowledge of engine, automobile components
Experience: Total 10+ years of experience in the industry
