Performance Manager - Manufacturing Firm ( Ex- Servicemen)


Job Summary:

The Performance Manager is responsible for ensuring optimal operational efficiency and productivity within the plant. This role involves maintaining schedules, planning and executing disciplinary actions, managing manpower, ensuring order and security, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. The Performance Manager will work closely with various departments to implement strategies and processes that enhance overall plant performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Schedule Management:

Develop and maintain production schedules to meet business objectives and customer demands. Coordinate with different departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks. Monitor and adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changes in production demands.

2. Discipline Planning and Execution:

Develop and enforce disciplinary policies and procedures to maintain a productive and safe working environment. Handle disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies and legal requirements. Provide training and guidance to supervisors and employees on disciplinary matters.

3. Manpower Management:

Assess manpower requirements and coordinate with HR to ensure staffing levels meet production needs. Develop and implement strategies for workforce planning, including recruitment, training, and retention. Monitor employee performance and provide feedback, coaching, and development opportunities.

4. Order and Security:

Ensure a safe and secure working environment by implementing and monitoring security measures and protocols. Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential security risks. Develop and maintain emergency response plans and conduct regular drills.

4. Compliance:

Ensure the plant complies with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental, health, and safety standards. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance. Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to compliance standards.

5. Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement:

Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess plant performance. Identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to address performance gaps. Prepare and present regular performance reports to senior management. Lead and participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to drive innovation and improvement.

Qualifications:

1. Retired Defence ( Army, Airforce ) in an officer cadre.

2. NDA or Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.

3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or plant environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

4. Strong knowledge of production processes, scheduling, and manpower management.

5. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

6. Ability to handle disciplinary matters with fairness and consistency.

7. Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and safety standards.

8. Proficiency in using performance monitoring and management software.

9. Demonstrated ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives.
