Peak Sustainability Ventures is a Mumbai-based, early-stage sustainability VC fund. We invest in innovative companies attempting to solve climate problems in a scalable manner, across four themes: New Energy, Water, Food Systems, and Climate.

Peak is looking for an Accountant to join its team. Location: Mumbai

Salary: Competitive, based on qualifications

Responsibilities:

- Financial Management: Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including preparing fund accounts

- Portfolio Accounting: Manage financial records for our diverse portfolio of investments, ensuring accuracy and completeness, and work with Fund administrator

- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and forecasts for internal and external stakeholders.

- Audit Coordination: Work closely with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

- Tax Compliance: Assist in tax planning and compliance activities, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and filings.

- Investments: Willingness to be involved in investment evaluation from a financial perspective, and assist in financial DD of prospective investments.

Requirements:

- CA Qualification: Qualified Chartered Accountant preferred.

- Experience: 3-4 years of relevant experience, preferably within an Accounting Firm, Investment Bank, Alternatives Fund (VC or PE), compliance (Tax, Companies Act) or other relevant role.

- Technical Skills: Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of AIF Cat II accounting principles is a plus.
