Job Summary:
The Payroll Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the organization's payroll processes and related functions. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payment of salaries, benefits, and taxes to employees, in compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. The Payroll Manager also collaborates with HR and Finance teams to maintain efficient payroll operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing:
- Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, including data collection, calculation, and distribution of employee salaries.
- Ensure accurate and timely payment of salaries, bonuses, overtime, and other compensation elements.
- Process all statutory and voluntary deductions, such as taxes, insurance, and retirement contributions.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Stay up-to-date with relevant laws and regulations related to payroll and taxation.
- Prepare and submit accurate payroll reports and tax filings to government authorities.
- Address compliance issues and discrepancies as they arise.
Data Management:
- Maintain and update employee records, including changes in salary, deductions, and personal information.
- Ensure data integrity and security of payroll information.
Benefit Administration:
- Administer and manage employee benefits, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and other fringe benefits.
- Collaborate with benefits providers to ensure seamless benefit delivery.
Problem Resolution:
- Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries and issues from employees.
- Investigate and correct any errors in payroll processing.
Process Improvement:
- Continuously review and optimize payroll processes for efficiency and accuracy.
- Implement automation and technology solutions to enhance payroll operations.
Team Management:
- Supervise and lead a team of payroll professionals, ensuring their training and development.
- Assign tasks and manage workloads effectively.
Audit and Reconciliation:
- Conduct regular audits of payroll records to identify and rectify discrepancies.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and ensure accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.
- Proven experience in payroll management, with at least [X years] in a managerial role.
