The Statutory Audit Partner is a senior leadership role responsible for leading and managing the statutory audit function within an audit firm or department. Key Responsibilities:
Client Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as a trusted advisor on audit matters.
- Understand clients' businesses, industries, and specific audit requirements.
Audit Leadership:
- Lead and oversee statutory audit engagements, including planning, execution, and completion of audits.
- Ensure audits are conducted in accordance with applicable auditing standards and regulatory requirements.
Team Management:
- Manage and mentor audit teams, including audit managers, seniors, and staff.
- Assign audit tasks, review workpapers, and provide guidance to audit staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and facilitate professional development.
Quality Assurance:
- Maintain a focus on audit quality and adherence to professional standards.
- Review and approve audit documentation, findings, and reports.
- Ensure that audit workpapers and documentation are comprehensive and accurate.
Risk Assessment:
- Assess and evaluate the risks associated with audit clients.
- Develop audit strategies and plans to address identified risks.
- Stay current with changes in auditing standards, regulations, and industry trends.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure that financial statements and audit reports comply with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Provide clear and concise audit reports with valuable insights and recommendations to clients.
Client Communication:
- Communicate audit findings, recommendations, and potential issues to clients.
- Collaborate with clients to address audit-related concerns and improve internal controls.
Business Development:
- Identify opportunities for additional services and business development within existing client relationships.
- Participate in client proposals, presentations, and negotiations.
Ethical Conduct:
- Maintain the highest level of professional ethics and integrity in all audit activities.
- Uphold the reputation and credibility of the audit firm.
