Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager to drive new business growth within the domestic market. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of developing and executing successful business development strategies. This role requires a strong understanding of capital machinery and equipment sales, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with key clients. You will be responsible for independently managing a portfolio of 50 select domestic customers, driving high-value order closures, and expanding our market presence.
Responsibilities:
Business Development & Client Management:
- Independently generate and engage with 50 select domestic customers to drive new business.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand market share.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior-level decision-makers, users, engineering, and supply chain personnel at client organizations.
- Identify and pursue new partnership opportunities to grow business and expand the company's reach.
- Maintain and nurture existing business relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.
Sales Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies tailored to the specific needs of each client.
- Present compelling proposals and negotiate high-value order closures.
- Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify potential opportunities and threats.
- Think critically and strategically to ensure project success.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports.
Customer Interaction & Communication:
- Demonstrate excellent spoken and written communication skills in English.
- Effectively interact with diverse stakeholders, including users, engineering teams, decision-makers, and supply chain personnel.
- Build confidence and trust with clients through clear and professional communication.
Travel & Plant Coverage:
- Possess a flair for extensive domestic travel to cover various plants of the allocated customer list.
- Conduct on-site visits and presentations to showcase product capabilities and build rapport with clients.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or Electronics Engineering.
- MBA in Marketing from a Premier institute.
Experience:
- 8-10 years of experience in capital machinery and equipment sales, preferably in the Pharma or Non-Pharma sectors.
- Proven track record of success in business development and achieving sales targets.
- Experience working with companies with a turnover of at least 250 Crore for a minimum of 3 years.
- Experience dealing with and handling senior-level client positions.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven knowledge and execution of successful business development strategies.
- Focused and goal-oriented with a strong drive to succeed.
- Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
- Ability to think critically and strategically.
- Strong understanding of technical concepts related to capital machinery and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and manage a portfolio of clients.
Key Requirements:
- Ability to independently manage a portfolio of 50 domestic customers.
- Extensive domestic travel.
- Experience with high-value order closures.
- Strong understanding of the Pharma or Non-Pharma capital machinery and equipment market.
