Job Description and Responsibilities for India Head of Tax Job Description: - Implements global tax guidelines with local business stakeholders - Monitor development in local tax law and provide updated tax guidelines and define tax controls to guide finance team in ensuring tax compliance and manage tax risk - Coordinate health checks to assess effectiveness of tax controls and perform risk assessments - Evaluate and report all tax risk to management - Maintains ongoing contact with management boards of local operating units, and stakeholder of the respective functional area and with local Tax authorities and Tax consultants. - Support finance to ensure timely preparation of tax returns, transfer pricing documentation and tax payments. - Perform technical evaluation and participate in all major decisions, e.g. acquisitions, divestitures, funding of subsidiaries, capital repatriation, merger, debt structuring, business restructuring, contracts, initiatives in the country and transfer pricing policies; - Leads a team of Indian Tax Professionals. - Coordinate validation of documents for direct and indirect tax refunds application - Evaluate and propose strategy to optimize and expedite tax refund - Evaluate and propose strategy to manage tax audits and litigations - Cooperate in a complex organization with an international business culture Requirements : - Seniority level : Director, MLP band - Employment type : Full- time - Job function: Accounting/Auditing and Finance/Tax - Years of experience: at least 10 years with a mix of Consulting and MNC experience - Reports to: APAC Head of Tax Potential Evolution : - After ensuring India tax scope is completely monitored, optimized and secured, manage more and more other countries of the APAC Region
