Scope of the Role
This position is a great opportunity for a Telecom experienced person to join the Sales force of the exciting and challenging Oracle Global Communications Business Unit and deal with the large and interesting Network Equipment Providers such as Ericsson, Nokia-Siemens Networks, etc. throughout Asia Pacific with the main focus on India.
As our Design Win Engineer you will be responsible to support existing projects and win new business for Oracle. Goal is to design in Oracle’s entire software and hardware stack into OEM projects at our NEP (Network Equipment Providers) customers.
The Design Win Engineer role involves supporting the Sales cycle of major proposals (for Design Win opportunities) by providing specialist knowledge, expertise and experience to enhance and ensure the high quality of information how the Systems product portfolio is presented to our customers. Your activities will include taking ownership of account relationships, presenting the systems product portfolio and arranging the appropriate input to each stage of the technical proposal. This will ensure that our customer's technical requirements are captured, an overall high level technical solution is identified, the best possible positioning of the product portfolio is defined and a proposal of an appropriate solution to the requirements presented back through the most suitable media.
The environment within the presales teams is busy, challenging and very rewarding.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactive Technical presales to turn new opportunities into Design Wins for Oracle.
- Focus is development of new business by wining new Design Wins with Oracle software, hardware and Oracle appliances.
- Technical Product/Solution presentations at customers. White-boarding solutions/architectures. Works to solve OEM's solutions with the best Oracle technology to meet the customer requirements.
- Technical response to RFP/RFI at OEM Opportunities.
- OEM Project Life cycle Management, by ensuring that the product & technical issues are proactively addressed.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Engineering and Engineering Management, be acknowledged as a trusted adviser
- Allocated primarily to NEP customers in EMEA
Essential Skills
- A self starter with minimal need for supervision.
- Experience of prioritizing activities in a busy and demanding environment
- Experience in multi product solution selling within the Communications sector.
- Presentation skills
- Sales positioning and process experience.
- Ability to handle customer technical meetings/workshops alone if required
- Broad knowledge of the server and storage industry
- Good knowledge of software particularly areas around databases or virtualization and cloud computing
- Broad knowledge of the Telecom industry
- Permanently updates own knowledge of the customer's activity, to be able to provide latest information and advice to the account decision makers
- Ability to discuss, at a high level, the solution, within all levels of a customer’s organisation.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), organisational and time management skills
- Ability to execute to a plan and demonstrate dependability and ownership
- Coordinate and facilitate product demonstrations / POC’
- Previous bid response experience.
- Previous experience successfully delivering technology solutions to all levels within the organisation.
- Experience of providing technical expertise into the Sales cycle.
