Summary:
The systems product sales role is responsible for generating demand and driving to closure sales opportunities involving systems product offerings. Responsible for selling, in most cases, a named subset of systems product offerings. This role provides product and solution expertise, including competitive positioning and value propositions that support customer objectives. This sales role is an active member of Sun's customer facing sales team. Systems product offerings would include the Server range, Disk Storage, Tape portfolio and associated solutions from Sun.
Major Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for sales activities required to link customer's business requirements to products and solutions, secure and grow the Systems LOB business, and drive the relevant programs aimed at developing LOB sales. Sales activities may include prospect identification, proposal generation, professional presentations and closing the sale.
- Works as part of an account team to identify, qualify and deliver solutions.
- Responsible for assigned territory, product segment, and the account plan to drive "LOB" goal attainment.
- Co-ordinates with the other members of the sales team (Sun employees and partners) to support account sales and business development strategies.
- Helps identify and engage the appropriate partner to meet customer requirements.
- Drives Sun Product strategy into assigned accounts.
- Follows all Sun methodologies and processes related to sales opportunity pursuit.
- Accurately and consistently forecasts business for area of responsibility.
- Ensures that the "LOB" sales programs are known and executed, including personal follow-up and engagement in selected opportunities.
- Achieves or exceeds the quarterly and annual sales goals for "LOB" business.
