Oracle - Director - Indirect Taxation

Director - IDT Compliance and Planning

- Lead Indirect tax compliance and planning function of Oracle entities in India covering but not limited to VAT, Service Tax, Customs, VAT, Entry Tax, GST, Stamp Duty etc.

- Build long-term sustainable Indirect tax org to meet business objectives.

- On-going review of indirect-tax compliance processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness (including automation of compliance work)

- Identify tax saving opportunities. evaluate & perform cost benefit analysis on alternate tax positions, participate in tax health checks and based on outcome implement changes.

- Lead all Indirect tax related initiatives, viz. anticipate changes and responses that might be required as regulation emerges (e.g. GST, Pre-budget memorandum, Advocacy etc.)

- Adopt a structured approach to represent before the governments, tax authorities and regulators in India for favourable changes in local tax law / practice, international treaties and tax neutrality;

- Representation of tax & regulatory matters, policies, results before senior management, audit committees to be met in full, delivered on time to a high quality against a backdrop of increasingly demanding tax environment.

- Review and finalize tax/duty computation, FAS5 schedule, audit schedule, tax payable reconciliations with financial reports;

- Work on India and global integration, and with other departments such as AP, AR, GCO, local finance, treasury, legal, and the business divisions in undertaking tax compliance, assessments, planning, risk evaluation and implementing tax initiatives;

- Develop standard operating procedures of key compliance activities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of tax compliance.

- Active participation in high stake IDT litigations and provide critical inputs while preparing for litigations.

- Lead other local / regional / global tax projects as and when required.
