Operations Risk Manager - Banking/Financial Services - Consulting Firm - Contract

Our client, a prominent consulting firm and is seeking an experienced Operational Risk Manager to join their team in Riyadh, KSA on a contractual 12-month extendable project term. This role demands a seasoned professional with a minimum of 8 years of experience, particularly within the banking or financial services sectors.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving operational risk assessment projects across various functions, enhancing control environments, and shaping risk management frameworks.

What You Will Be Doing:

Risk Assessment and Control Evaluation:

- Deliver comprehensive operational risk assessments across multiple business functions including Finance, Operations, Payments, Cards, and Procurement.

- Assess and enhance the effectiveness of controls to strengthen the overall control environment.

Framework and Policy Development:

- Develop, review, and implement frameworks and policies for Operational Risk Management (ORM), ensuring robust and effective risk management practices.

Tool Implementation and Management:

- Design and implement risk assessment tools such as Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), control testing protocols, Key Risk Indicators (KRI), and Incident/Loss Data Management systems.

Data Analysis and Insight Generation:

- Utilize your proficiency in data analysis to generate insights, identify trends, and provide data-driven recommendations to mitigate risks and optimize operations.

Your Background:

- Seniority: Minimum 8 years of experience in operational risk within the banking or financial services industry.

Required Skills:

- Expertise in operational risk assessment and control evaluation.

- Proficiency in developing and implementing ORM frameworks.

- Strong analytical skills for data-driven decision making.

Preferred Skills:

- Proficiency in MS PowerPoint and Excel.

- Experience in managing committee meetings, including agenda creation, and documentation management.

- Capability in reporting, creating dashboards, and developing governance structures and remediation plans.

This role is critical in ensuring the operational stability and risk compliance of our client's activities. This is a contractual opportunity with an initial 12-month contract and this is based out of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
