OPERATIONS HEAD (PET BOTTLES)
- Responsible for setting up a collection infrastructure for Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) and other plastic waste materials. Monitor and drive the recovery of these waste materials.
- Develop, implement, and drive environmental strategies and policies.
- Communicate with key stakeholders regarding environmental performance.
- Responsible for safe and efficient operations of the Plastics locations managing both capital resources and labor.
- Report on production, safety, goals, and efficiencies to management. Initiate necessary action to meet department goals and personnel needs.
- Monitor product standards and implement quality control programs.
- Do a market survey and establish bottle collection centres at strategic locations in Southeast Asia and other regions.
- Provide baling machine, Generator and Truck to the contractor if need be and an MoU can be signed with them for the bottles supply to the company.
- Guide the other collection staff for follow up of the collections with different suppliers and different areas within regions of the country.
- Strive and look out for new avenues for bottle collections to achieve the set target of PET bottles per month.
- Liaise with other Bottle collection companies for the supply of well pre-sorted and baled bottles from their own established collection hubs.
- Ensure thorough quality control/checks the right quality of PET bottles and weight of the materials reaching to the company and establishing the system for deduction for highly contaminated materials.
- Arrange for timely payment to the suppliers.
- Keep track of market competition and prices of the material and as and when necessary, review it from time to time.
- Record keeping for materials received and stocks in liaison with stores/warehouse.
- Follow up on the maintenance of the company's collection trucks with auto maintenance workshop and arrange for a daily schedule for collection trucks for bottles pickups in addition to bottle supplies by suppliers' vehicles.
- Explore waste procurement from neighbouring countries and outside the regions and leverage the company's national logistics presence to use to our advantage.
- Oversees and facilitates recycling pickup programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local ordinances and guidelines.
- Engage with national and global organizations in the recycling space to ensure collaborations with all stakeholders across the value chain.
- Work closely with sales department to coordinate shipping and receiving of materials.
- Manage department and individual performance through direct and indirect supervision of employees.
Qualification And Experience:
1. 15-20 years of experience in Pet Bottle Recycling/Polyester Fibre Industry/B2B rPET (bottle grade rpet from used bottles, from pet scrap to pet flakes & from pet flakes to b2b recycled pet resins) & should have a very deep understanding of recycling process.
2. Strong verbal, listening and written communications skills.
3. Must be able to multitask effectively, handle demanding schedules and effectively deal with co-workers.
4. To treat people fairly, equally and with respect.
5. Keeps assigned work area clean, neat, organized, and free from safety hazards.
