Position : Operational Risk Manager (Mid Level)

About Role :
- Member of Operations risk Team
- Lead development and rollout of risk assessment frameworks and processes.
- Plan, execute and review risk assessment activities.
- Ensure risks and issues identified are resolved in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Recommend appropriate and pragmatic solutions to risk and control issues.
- Remain abreast of industry developments and long-term strategies across the corporation, and all corporate policies & procedures.
- Lead and support implementation of OR initiatives for the Business Unit.
- Proactively communicate with the Business Unit Head and BORM on operational risk issues. Escalate significant events to BORM & Business Head as appropriate.
- Coordinate and consolidate operational risk and loss reporting of the unit for the reporting to the BORM & Business Unit Head.
- Assist Business COO & BORM in implementation of OR framework or other relevant OR initiatives.
- Undertake or coordinate periodic business monitoring (RCSA) activities within the Business Unit and escalate findings and or breaches to Business Unit Head and BORM, when they occur.
- Provide update to senior management on major operational risks of the respective businesses.
- Develop effective senior line management relationships to ensure strong understanding of the business propose creative and pragmatic solutions for risk and control problems, and write reports that effectively convey results to senior management.
- Contributing to the effective development and delivery of core ORM elements i.e. identification of the risk profile, delivery of detailed risk assessment, management of risk events, operational losses, escalation and reporting.
- Delivering ORM processes specific to the Risk team e.g. Risk Event tracking, loss reconciliation & provisioning etc.
- Monitoring and tracking control issues to resolution as well as timely reporting & escalation of all operational risk exposures.
- Leading and mentoring the team members.
Functional Skills :
- Knowledge of the financial products offered by Banks and NBFCs
- In depth knowledge of operational risk, governance and control techniques.
- Knowledge of Risk assessment, risk mitigation, risk event management techniques.
- Excellent analytic ability to understand the diverse complex business issues, identifying root causes and recommending solutions
Soft skills :
- Ability to communicate & influence at all levels.
- Quality high standards and controls.
- Strong facilitation and negotiation skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills for interfacing with all levels of Internal audit and line management.
- Good leadership skills in motivating team members comprising colleagues within different LOBs and enterprise functions.
