Job Title: Operation Excellence Lead

Job objective: The Operational Excellence Manager is a key member of the business who drives continuous improvement to create a living culture that challenges the status quo and the behaviors of all site employees in order to deliver the Operational Excellence transformation.

This individual leads the implementation of Operational Excellence with the purpose of creating self-sufficiency at the site he/she works in.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Integrated and aligned with Operational excellence, lean and Six Sigma program, the scope of this role includes efficient fleet management, transportation (raw materials, finished goods and reverse logistics) distribution/delivery ( including route planning activities and direct ship opportunities ), warehousing (inventory deployment strategies, warehouse storage, retrieval, picking, truck loading , material Handling and inventory control at manufacturing plant as well as Warehouses, Depots and sales centers).

2. Mentors and Develops individuals to a clear understanding of the criteria for Operational Excellence success including behaviors, attitude, and OE skills to build an OE environment that sustains productivity and process improvement.

3. This role works with other COE leaders in development of improvement action plans in coordination with Business leadership Team, OE to coordinate all pre-work, on-site visits, assessments, personnel, tool implementations, and process changes related to the COE. Responsible for documentation of project work, standard operating procedures, standardized logistics metrics and coordinating & supporting training programs for long term sustainability of actions taken.

4. Instrumental in achieving the site productivity and customer service targets and identifying productivity opportunities to close potential gaps.

5. Drives behavioral change across the site, including support functions through coaching and influencing.

6. Lead local/regional COE assessment and action plan implementation with unit logistics team for Logistics and distribution opportunities.

7. Support the logistics process by driving approval of specific Logistics projects, determining resource allocation and setting targets for individual projects. Ensure strategies are understood and objectives are clearly set throughout the Logistics organization for completion of each specific project. Continually assess current and future business environment and modify objectives as needed.

8. Develops a continuous improvement roadmap/master plan annually for the site and provides training and other assistance for execution.

9. Accelerate adoption of proven Logistics tools and integrated processes within COE that will optimize cost, increase customer satisfaction and expand profitable growth. Along with unit execution team deliver the targeted savings from the logistics and distribution process and productivity improvement initiatives

10. Build local sustainable capabilities in Logistics and Route to market arena through COE, tool and process training, functional workshops, and on floor support.

Candidate specification:

- B.E/B.Tech + MBA preferably in Logistics Management

- Demonstrated ability to apply Lean and Six Sigma tools to business problems.
