We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Associate Director of Data Engineering to lead our growing team of data engineers. The ideal candidate will be passionate about leveraging data to drive business insights and innovation, possess strong leadership skills, and have a proven track record of building and scaling data platforms in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

- Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions to support business intelligence, reporting, and machine learning initiatives.

- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, product managers, and software engineers, to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

- Define and enforce best practices for data engineering, including data modeling, ETL processes, data quality, and performance optimization.

- Manage a team of data engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and technical leadership to drive their professional growth and development.

- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in data engineering practices, tools, and technologies, staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.

- Partner with internal stakeholders to prioritize and roadmap data engineering projects based on business objectives and resource constraints.

- Establish and maintain robust monitoring, logging, and alerting mechanisms to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of data pipelines and systems.

- Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to ensure data privacy, compliance, and governance requirements are met.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

- 8+ years of experience in data engineering, with a proven track record of designing, building, and scaling data platforms in a cloud environment (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).

- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).

- Extensive experience with big data technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and Hive.

- Hands-on expertise in designing and implementing ETL processes using tools like Apache Airflow, Apache NiFi, or equivalent.

- Solid understanding of data modeling concepts and techniques, including dimensional modeling and schema design.

- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.

- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.

- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for learning and applying new technologies to solve complex business challenges.

- Experience in the fintech industry or other regulated industries is a plus.
