Roles and Responsibilities:
- Act as the business owner for his or her categories, possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact our business including forecasting, monitoring, understanding and reporting on the category
- Develop performance metrics for supply chain, vendors, retail outlet performance and cost management
- Develop policies for stock control, inventory management, order management and scheduling delivery
- Build excellent relationships to develop alliances and execute sourcing strategy
- Should have a view of and drive towards growing the category keeping in mind the consumer and competition
- Should be able to fruitfully coordinate with sales, marketing, supply chain, cataloging, finance / commercial and other functions of the organization.
- Should have prior experience or enough knowledge to mentor / supervise merchandising operations, Inbound planning, Cataloging monitoring & Discount monitoring etc.
- Should drive visibility plans, promotion plans and coordinate the same between the internal marketing teams and that of the brands
- Create business plans for new opportunities and develop and execute project plans for the launch of new features, incorporating merchandising and pricing strategies
- Conduct financial analysis of business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue and profitability targets
Skills and Expertise:
- MBA from Tier-1 B Schools
- Experience of 5-10 Years
- Prior experience in e Commerce, retail, or consumer shopping preferred
- Understanding of Buying, Planning and Inventory Management
- Exceptional communication skills (verbal & written) and influencing skills
- Proven analytical thinking, project management skills, attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills are essential
- Drive to independently develop a data-driven point of view, and execute across with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced, complex and unstructured cross-functional environment
- Strong business judgment with a track record of successful negotiations and overall relationship management
- Candidate needs to have a winning attitude and an ability to never get bogged down by issues, problems
- Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, manage and prioritize multiple projects
- Tenacity to develop ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment
