Job Summary : As a Category Manager at Ola, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and managing our portfolio of services within specific categories, such as ride-hailing, bike-sharing, and other transportation solutions. You will be responsible for the overall performance, growth, and strategic direction of your assigned category. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will drive initiatives to enhance user experience, increase market share, and optimize operational efficiency.

Responsibilities :

- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for your assigned category, aligning with overall business goals and market dynamics.

- Oversee the entire product portfolio within your category, from conceptualization to execution, ensuring a diverse and appealing range of services.

- Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive landscape, and growth opportunities within your category.

- Develop and implement strategies to drive revenue growth within your category, optimizing pricing models and identifying new monetization opportunities.

- Work closely with the product development team to enhance the user experience within your category, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and preferences.

- Collaborate with marketing, sales, operations, and other teams to ensure seamless execution of category strategies and initiatives.

- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for your category, regularly evaluating and reporting on performance against targets.

- Identify potential risks within the category and develop mitigation plans to ensure the continuity and success of services.

Requirements :

- MBA from Tier 1 colleges.

- 3+ years of proven experience in category management, product management, or a related role, preferably in the tech or mobility industry.

- Strong understanding of user acquisition and retention strategies.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and trends.

- Excellent project management and organizational skills.

- Effective communication and negotiation skills.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional teams.

- Knowledge of the local market and consumer behavior within the assigned category.

- Familiarity with regulatory considerations affecting the mobility industry.

- Experience in launching and managing products or services in a competitive market.

- Understanding of digital marketing and its application to category management.
