Manager, Compliance Validation

The Compliance Department is responsible for overseeing Ocwen's mortgage servicing compliance program, including compliance with federal and state laws and regulations. The department oversees servicing agreements and standards established with investors, national mortgage standards and other settlement requirements. The Compliance team is also responsible for government agency and government sponsored entity servicing standards, and the applicable guidelines for the Making Home Affordable programs.
The Manager, Compliance Validation will develop and oversee the activities of the compliance testing group that validates the implementation of management's corrective actions in response to various issues, findings and reports. The Manager will ensure that the work performed by team members is appropriate and complete, with results reported on a timely basis. This person will be responsible for managing an effective and efficient validation process and interacting directly with business unit leaders to review the root causes of exceptions and the sufficiency of the corrective action plans developed to address those exceptions.
Responsibilities will include :
- Managing a testing team which conducts reviews to assess the effectiveness of business unit corrective action plans, control and process improvements, and ad-hoc projects that strengthen the internal compliance environment
- Working with business units to conduct validation testing based on specific corrective actions taken, compliance requirements and/or standards
- Obtaining updates and monitoring the status of business unit action plans in order to assess when to initiate validation testing.
- Tracking, researching and responding to business unit testing inquiries in a timely manner
- Management of the day-to-day testing operations while prioritizing and addressing various ad-hoc requests from internal and external parties
- Managing the testing team by organizing, motivating and developing staff
- Identifying opportunities to enhance the processes and tools used to perform testing, document test work and report results
- Fostering effective working relationships with business units and management
Key Result Areas :
- Present timely and accurate results on the effectiveness and sufficiency of business unit corrective action plans
- Develop, enhance and maintain processes and procedures with respect to compliance validation, including scope of work, testing methodologies, and reporting
- Effectively manage a testing team consisting of compliance auditors and analysts
Minimum Qualifications :
- Bachelor's Degree
- Seven (7) years of experience in Compliance or Audit
- Effective team builder with strong leadership and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to have a positive interaction with management and work across departmental lines
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills May require writing samples to evidence
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in an organized fashion with attention to details
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage complex or multi-functional compliance projects
Preferred Qualifications :
- Bachelor's Degree in a business or finance related field
- Previous experience in managing an audit or compliance team strongly preferred
- Relevant industry certifications (CIA, CFSA, CPA, CRCM, etc.)
- Experience in financial services, mortgage origination's or servicing
