IT Security & Risk Manager leads a small skilled and experienced team that manages delivery of the technology security and risk functions. This individual is responsible for managing and executing the firm's data security and technology risk strategy to ensure that we balance needs vs. risk and client is adequately protected.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the team to achieve expected deliverables, to implement and refine our technology security and risk strategy including business resiliency and continuity
- Provide strategic technology direction to ensure required level of functionality and performance, and to manage risk, improve reliability, ensure compliance with applicable policy and standards
- Lead security and risk related projects from initiation through implementation to support clients security needs
- Partner with Business Systems, Enterprise Architecture and Operations teams to ensure security related SDLC guidelines are followed
- Assess applicable policy, standards and controls, indirectly manage security technologies and direct the establishment and implementation of policies and procedures
- Collaborate and build relationships with firm's Architecture, Business Systems, Operations, Legal and Risk teams
- Collaborate and build relationships with IT Security and Audit colleagues to help define and ensure consistency of security protocols and risk management
- Work with Partners and Legal colleagues to review RFPs, RFIs, and provide security and risk-related input into proposals and contracts
- Monitor information security trends and keep technology leadership informed about information security-related issues and activities potentially affecting the organization
- Ensure appropriate business continuity process is followed for infrastructure and applications in accordance with business need, guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Closely work with the Technology Leadership Team to establish operational and risk goals and success metrics
- Manage IT risk & security team, including hiring, training, staff development, performance management and annual performance reviews.
- Provide strategic risk guidance for IT projects, including the evaluation and recommendation of technical controls.
- Manage security incidents and events to protect IT assets, including intellectual property, regulated data and the company's reputation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, systems analysis or a related field of study, or equivalent experience.
- Seven to ten years of experience in technology and five plus years in Information security.
- Experience working within a consultancy firm (e.g. as a consultant or in the Information Technology department) is required.
- Strong subject matter experience in application security, vulnerability testing and development of a risk appetite.
- Risk management experience with proven ability to effectively apply risk principles to challenging business situations.
- Experience with contract and vendor negotiations.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong facilitation and consensus building skills.
- Basic knowledge of financial models and budgeting.
- Experience collaborating with parent company shared services IT organization will be viewed favorably.
- Security and Risk certifications will be viewed favorably.
