Assistant Manager - Buyer - He/ She is responsible to develop the overall strategy for a product category to drive sales and achieve targets. - Responsible to provides category insights, market gaps, opportunities and work with design teams in creating product proposals seasonally by analysing marketing and customer data and monitoring relevant market conditions. - Demonstrate customer and category knowledge, be an advocate for a quality customer experience, and understand the competition and industry - To establish the optimum product mix with sourcing and design. - Liaise with research agencies, Customer Acquisition &amp; Engagement team and Category teams in benchmarking selection and pricing, identify pricing gaps and work with multiple stakeholders in bridging the pricing gap - To work with the Design Manager / Head of Design to ensure that there is consistent, appropriate and unique product handwriting across the Category. - Development of brand with design and lead the Sourcing activity to offer a balance of choice, value, quality, fashion to the consumer. - To ensure that OTB/inventory plan is developed in line with market trends, balance risks and opportunities and to develop contingency plans to achieve net margin plan and maximize profitability while controlling overall stocks level. - Set up a scalable price benchmarking process and drive inputs to improve price competitiveness for the brand. - Work with cross functional teams to define a charter for engagement initiatives such as Deals, customer-segment-specific stores and campaigns to drive active rates and repeat purchases - Analyze the business to understand trends, shifts, spikes/dips etc. - Regularly track Competitions activities and consumers needs and buying pattern. - Work with vendors for Product Development and costing. - Ensure timely delivery of all inventory through consistent communication and follow-up with vendors. - Work closely with vendors to develop an in-depth understanding of the supply chain, proactively encourage best practice and improve product quality - Negotiating the terms of the contract with suppliers, maintain business relationships and collaborate with existing and new suppliers for business expansion - Minimize the production cost and be involved in product check and quality checks. - Partner with Brand, Design and key suppliers to develop and innovate new products - Should understand the market and product mix offered by competitive brands. - Understand market gaps and work to fulfill the same. - Range planning along with Design and effective vendor management. - Resolve issues in a timely manner while working to continuously improve and create internal and external processes and procedures. Skills &amp; Qualifications : - Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Category management experience&nbsp; - Leading Retail / Ecommerce/ Beauty - Must have a bachelors degree in Fashion business management / design - MBA will be strongly preferred. - Negotiation Skills - Execution Management - Vendor Management - Analytical skills - Business presentation skills
