We are looking for a talented person who would answer yes to all these questions:
- Do you get excited about the impact your work can have to a large-scale application affecting millions of customers?
- Do you enjoy the process of researching, testing, and deploying technologies for solving problems?
- What's the object-oriented way for becoming wealthy?
- Do you have top-notch programming skills and a track record of getting stuff done?
- Do you have the passion to learn and willingness to burn mid-night oil? (If you like a 9 to 5 job, please don- t apply)
- Can you work efficiently and manage multiple projects to strict deadlines?
Skills for crushing it
- The Technical Product Manager is essentially the surrogate user. As the intermediary between market/business requirements and engineering, the technical product manager should first have in-depth knowledge of the user's job responsibilities - WHAT they do, HOW they do their job (in detail), and HOW they're measured
- Combine that user knowledge with in-depth product knowledge that allows you to define functional product specifications to guide the engineers and ensure they're building functionality that best supports the goals of the users and how they do their job
- More internally focused, less externally focused
- More requirements-driven, less problem-driven
- More focused on the "how" to execute than on the "what" to execute
- Tends to come from a strong technical background (engineering, program management)
- On Agile teams, may work in more of a "Scrum-master" type role than as a true "Product Owner"
Bonus Points
- Entrepreneurial in nature (we seriously measure that), Self-motivating, Self-directing, and strong communication skills.
- Ready to move up in career curve swiftly
If the ball is falling, catch it
