Role Overview:
We seek an experienced Senior Manager - Fundraising to secure funding from diverse sources, manage donor relationships, and ensure transparent reporting. This leadership role requires strategic planning, strong networking, and a passion for education.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Understand NSF vision, initiatives, ways of working
- Acquire a deep understanding of NSF Vision, values, NSF Scholarships and NCL educational initiatives, objectives, activities and practices
- Establish positive and collaborative relationships with the management and internal teams
- Make visits to NSF Scholarships & NCL field areas, participate in team meetings and with concerned stakeholders, to understand the context and field level challenges that need to be addressed in the process of scaling the program. Observations from such meetings should feed into developing relevant grant proposals and suggested intervention plan
- Study the current funding arrangements and planned future fund mobilisation requirements NSF
- Study other NGOs offering similar services as NSF and understand NSF value addition and how to pitch its case for fund mobilisation.
2. Fundraising & Partnerships:
- Develop comprehensive grant proposals that match NSF/NCL's objectives and areas of work and execute fundraising strategies to secure funds from Corporates, charitable foundations, High Net worth Individuals (HNWIs), and crowd funding support.
- Research, write, and submit compelling proposals and grant applications.
- Diversify funding sources through innovative fundraising approaches.
3. Donor & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Identify and segment potential donors (e.g., individual donors, corporate sponsors, foundations, etc.) and study their current commitments/funding of education projects similar to NSF initiatives and assess the scope for partnerships with NSF
- Build long-term relationships with corporate sponsors, Foundations, and Government agencies and Higher Education academic institutions.
- Develop donor engagement plans, maintain accurate records, and create impact reports.
- Organize donor meetings, networking events, and appreciation initiatives.
4. Grant & Financial Management:
- Manage the full grant lifecycle-identification, submission, fund allocation, and reporting.
- Ensure transparent fund utilization and compliance as per donor requirements.
5. Communication & Brand Positioning:
- Collaborate with marketing team to create fundraising communication materials (brochures, presentations, flyers, visuals, infographics, data charts, short video clips, reports, newsletters, social media campaigns).
- Represent NSF at corporate meetings, fundraising events, and industry conferences, alumni meet of higher education institutions, relevant educational events, etc.
6. Reporting & Leadership Structure:
- Lead and mentor the fundraising team and leverage external resources as needed
- Report to the Managing Trustee and collaborate with the Board Committee on fundraising
7. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Leads Generated - Number of potential donors identified.
- Conversion Rate - Percentage of successful funding deals from total pitches.
- Pitches Made - Total number of proposals and presentations delivered.
- Segment-wise Money Raised - Funds secured from corporates, Foundations, High Net worth Individuals (HNWIs), grants, crowdfunding, etc
Requirements:
- 5+ years of direct experience in non-profit marketing for fundraising, managing donor relations, and attracting CSR funding.
- Master's degree in Business, Marketing, Non-profit Management, or related field.(preferable)
- Additional skills in digital funding and crowdfunding, proposal writing and negotiation are desirable
- A proven track record in securing grants, CSR partnerships, and corporate funding is a bonus.
