Position Summary
You will be involved in full developmental lifecycle of one or more products, from concept stage to detailed design, prototyping, testing, validation, certification, and transfer to production as per proposed timelines, budget and quality standards. You will work on delivery of complex electromechanical products for the medical equipment industry which will involve deep integration of various subsystems like mechanical design, electronics, firmware, software, and cloud.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading throughout the product development process: feasibility, planning, design, product validation, qualification, sampling, and ramp.
- Create project plans with milestones, timelines, and ownership, and drive delivery, Prepare and monitor project charter, Risk register, change control register, issue log, etc.
- Take responsibility to drive multiple programs and engage with stakeholders across Engineering, Production, Purchase, Product, Sales, Finance to ensure tight control on timelines, risk, release of milestones.
- Facilitate project health check awareness reporting regularly to Senior Management on Key Product Development Milestones, Metrics, Risks/ Mitigation plans etc
- Developing and maintaining detailed program schedules, identifying and addressing gaps, and proactively assessing and mitigating risk throughout the execution. Driving regular and special cross-functional team meetings as needed.
- Allocation of Project staffing across projects in alignment with team leads
- Provide balance in technical support for architectural approvals, development, documentation closure and source control management (quality control).
- Periodically and upon request, present product plans and status to executive management, appropriately framing status, issues, and options.
- Basis and ensure even, continuous information flow to stakeholders.
- Setting up necessary CFTs, Task Forces to address short projects / Technical scenario analysis and adhering to timelines and escalating risks to programs or budget deviations
- Responsibilities also includes partial people management, design of subsystems/systems, verification and validation efforts at part, subsystem, and system level.
- Act as a single point of contact with regulatory, testing, and other external agencies
- Lead operational Excellence and Business process improvement initiatives
Job Requirements :
Education & Experience
- B.E./B.Tech from Tier 1 or Tier 2 institute
- MBA is an added advantage
- 3 to 9 years of relevant experience
Technical Knowledge :
- 3+ years of experience in technical project management methodologies and tools such as MS Projects, Jira, etc.
- Very clear understanding of product development cycles, engineering and technical know-how, cost know-how, component level as well as product level.
Behavioural skills :
- Experienced Manager with proactive and solution-oriented approach
- Strong analytical skills and familiarity with complex engineering products/projects
- Excellent training, presentation, communication, and convincing skills
- Proven track record in team building, people handling, ability to challenge the status quo and capable to switch between detail and helicopter view
- Negotiation skills, ability to trade off, trade up and propose solutions to complex situations
