Job Overview:
The Financial Controller will oversee and manage the finance and accounting functions across various entities of the promoters of NIIT Group, including NBFCs, NGOs, Trusts, etc., ensuring operational efficiency and financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting and Taxation:
- Manage tax returns, assessments, scrutiny cases, etc.
- Prepare financial statements for entities.
- Oversee taxation, particularly TDS, GST, and other relevant areas.
- Work closely with tax consultants during assessments/appeals.
Compliance Assurance:
- Ensure governance compliance for NGOs, institutions, private trusts, NBFCs, HUFs, and individuals.
- Stay updated on relevant regulations.
- Monitor and ensure compliance through consultants or outsourced services.
Leadership and Communication:
- Demonstrate excellent communication and articulation skills.
- Collaborate effectively with senior management and founders.
- Coordinate with outsourcers and consultants.
- Take ownership of critical areas and activities.
Financial Analysis & Accounting Operations:
- Mastery in using financial ERPs (e.g., Tally, MS Dynamics) for MIS, trend analysis, and forecasting.
- Manage accounting operations with a balance of insourcing and outsourcing.
- Identify and lead automation and digital technology projects.
Cash Flow & Treasury Operations:
- Manage cash flow, forecasting, and working capital.
- Oversee treasury operations for effective financial management.
Investment Portfolio Management:
- Understand and manage mutual fund investments, equity markets, and the global financial environment.
- Work closely with investment advisors and fund managers.
Legal Support (Desirable):
- Have working knowledge of legal and litigation matters.
- Collaborate with lawyers and consultants on legal issues.
Digital Skills:
- Be comfortable with technology and a proficient user of MS Office.
Qualifications:
- Preferred: Chartered Accountant (CA)
Experience:
- 10-15 years of post-qualification experience.
Essential Skills and Competencies:
- Strong references validating competence and integrity.
- Experience in handling tax and financial assessments.
- Ability to work with senior teams and manage consultants effectively.
- Adept at financial analysis, automation, and portfolio management.
- Leadership skills, with full ownership of critical tasks.
Desirable Skills:
Legal knowledge.
Ability to handle digital and technology-driven projects.
