Department - Oleochemicals
Experience (Required) :
Technical experience either within new product development, technical service or application development in specialty chemicals , preferably in Personal Care, Home Care, Wellness ingredients.
Key Internal Interactions:
- R&D Provide customer needs as input to product development by R&D, Facilitate and follow up sample development and approvals
- Procurement Engage in planning procurement of raw & packaging materials for new product development
- Manufacturing, Supply Chain,Quality For working quick deliveries of products to new customers
- Key Account Managers/Sales & Marketing of Oleochemicals Receiving latest customer developments and needs, identifying new business opportunities, interfacing with client
Role Purpose :
To support the growth of specialty chemicals BU, NBD is the key driver of this growth. This role shall be responsible for commercialising new products in coordination with R&D
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and Strategising
- Assist HOD in the business development strategy and budget for Oleochemicals in the geography
- Assist HOD to identify new business opportunities through market, customer and competitor analysis
- Contribute to the Annual Business Planning process through accurate revenue forecasting for NBD sales of Oleochemicals
- Plan and implement business development initiatives to increase new sales and give inputs on
- Pricing
- Geographies and accounts
- Key variants for volume growth in products
- Ensure that the initiatives are in line with the global Oleo strategy and product/ pricing/ marketing guidelines
- Assist HOD in budgeting overall spends and to allocate spend levels to targetted current and new customers
- Policy and Process Design, Implementation and Review
- Interact with new and existing customers (Procurement , R&D functions as approoriate) to conduct business development discussions and negotiate pricing, SLAs etc
- Incorporate process improvements in the business development processes
- Support the building of the business case for New Business Development ideas especially those involving capex, with appropriate inputs on market size,dynamics etc
- Prepare for and coordinate the monthly New Business Development reviews of the Oleochemicals business
- Coordination and Interface
- To effectively manage application development and be the market facing technical representative
- Interface with R&D and other internal functions to manage New Product Development ideas to samples and approval stage through strong project management
- Indentify opportunities for IP protection of new technologies and applications
- Build co-development partnerships with key customers to develop new products with appropriate contractual agreements
- Management of performance, capability and morale
- Incubate New products developed through active sales & business management till it is ready to be transitioned to Sales team;Enable transition
- Promote a culture of innovation across the Oleochemicals business in concert with the HR team
