Duties :
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting of the Company's 120+ Multi-Family Properties and Senior Living Communities
- Co-ordinate and Oversee periodical reporting and preparation of Financial Reports/statements for stakeholders.
- Co-ordination for annual budgeting with Operations.
- Direct the audit and tax preparation process for those entities and serve as a liaison with third-party auditors to ensure completion of audits and tax returns within reporting deadlines (ideally familiar with U.S. GAAP)
- Research and respond to inquiries from investors, regulatory and tax agencies
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective Policies and Procedures to maintain internal controls, accurate reporting, and data integrity
- Main liaison for questions and policies between various internal departments
- Responsible for the monthly calculations and compliance of Management Fees and Bookkeeping Fees from the Properties with existing agreements.
- Additional duties as assigned within the domain
Supervisor Responsibilities
- Remotely Manage Property Accountants and is responsible for their overall direction coordination, and evaluation.
- Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Guardian policies and applicable laws.
- Interviewing, hiring, and training Accountants, planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Accountants; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications and Skills
- CA, CPA or similar professional qualifications from a recognized body within the country or abroad. Bachelor's Degree in the same domain is necessary.
- Candidate should ideally be familiar with U.S. GAAP (General accounting and taxation)
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience preferably with some in Property Accounting and including a minimum of 1-2 years in management
- Exceptional analytical skills and detail orientation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with internal associates and external partners.
- Ability to apply advanced problem-solving skills to resolve complex issues
- Ability to work with strict deadlines in a high volume environment
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and general ledger applications - YARDI Software experience helpful
- Team Leader and Team Member skills are necessary
