DELIVERY MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION
Key responsibilities:
- The Delivery Manager will be responsible to ensure consistent, predictable and high-quality service deliveries to customers
- The Delivery manager will work closely with customers to understand their present and upcoming technology solution needs and ensure relevant plans, teams and resources
are readied for service deliveries
- The Delivery Manager will take responsibility for a variety of ongoing activities including planning and leading project teams, budgeting and tracking costs, monitoring and reporting progress, identify risks and develop relevant mitigation plans, performance management of the team and enabling business growth through relationship and track record of consistent service deliveries
- The Delivery Manager will also understand and appreciate the business domain of their customers and details of the technologies used to build their solutions
Key Skills:
- Good understanding of IT Services business operations and strong customer service orientation
- Deep experience in Delivery Management including managing delivery teams across multiple geographical locations. Must have handled teams of over 100 people including multi-cultural teams
- Project Management experience including managing Agile projects, Fixed Price projects, Application Development projects, Application Maintenance projects
- Experience in managing delivery of digital solutions including Ecommerce, Content Management, Data Management, AI/ML solutions, Big Data Solutions, Application Modernization programs, Cloud technology based solutions
- Deep experience in atleast 1 or 2 industry domains among Pharmaceuticals, Life Sciences, Healthcare, Banking, Insurance, Retail, CPG, Manufacturing etc.
- Certifications including Certified Scrum Master, Certified Agile Practitioner will be an added advantage
- International work experience including working co-located with customers in North America, Europe, Middle East, India and Australia
- Must have functioned in the roles of a Software Engineer, Business Analyst or Technical Lead earlier in his/her career
- Must have a good understanding and experience in Software Delivery Life cycle details for both Application Development & Maintenance projects
- Experience in managing and delivery any large-scale digital transformation programs will be an added advantage
- Must be experienced and knowledgeable in estimation techniques including Function Point, WBS,
Story Point based estimations
- Excellent knowledge of Business and Project financials including Revenues, Costs, Profitability, Utilization etc.
- Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills
- Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail
Educational background and Industry experience:
- Bachelors or Masters in Engineering. Post graduation in Business Administration will be an added advantage
- Delivery Manager will have at-least 16 years of experience in the IT Industry including at-least 6 years as a Project Manager and 2 years as a Delivery Manager working in reputed IT Services firms serving global enterprises & delivering multiple successful large scale technology projects
