Reports to: CEO/Managing Director

Job Summary:


- The National Sales Head will lead, strategize, and manage sales efforts across the country for the company's range of cosmetics or FMCG products.


- The role involves formulating sales strategies, building a strong sales team, achieving revenue targets, expanding distribution channels, and driving growth in line with company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy Development:

- Develop and implement national sales strategies to meet the company's revenue and market share goals in the cosmetics/FMCG sector.

- Align sales initiatives with marketing, product development, and business objectives to ensure consistent messaging and brand positioning.

- Conduct market analysis and competitor benchmarking to identify growth opportunities, product trends, and customer needs.

Team Leadership:

- Build, train, and lead a high-performing national sales team across regions to meet and exceed sales targets.

- Provide mentorship and guidance to regional sales managers to ensure they meet performance goals.

- Monitor team performance and KPIs, ensuring accountability and motivation across all levels.

Channel & Distribution Management:

- Manage and expand relationships with key distributors, retailers, and e-commerce partners.

- Oversee the implementation of a robust distribution strategy to maximize product availability in key markets.

- Ensure the development of new distribution channels in line with market demand.

Revenue Growth & Profitability:

- Set and monitor sales targets for national and regional teams.

- Drive revenue, profit, and market share targets by implementing innovative sales techniques.

- Identify opportunities to enhance profitability through pricing, promotional strategies, and market positioning.

Brand Development & Customer Relationship:

- Work closely with marketing and product teams to develop sales campaigns that resonate with target consumers.

- Ensure brand presence and product visibility in stores and e-commerce platforms.

- To drive growth, and foster strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and partners.

Sales Operations & Reporting:

- Oversee the daily operations of the national sales team, ensuring efficient use of resources and maintaining budgetary controls.

- Provide regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance analyses to senior management.

- Collaborate with finance to ensure budget targets, collections, and credit management alignment.

Market Penetration:

- Develop strategies for entering new geographical markets and segments.

- Drive sales growth in urban, semi-urban, and rural markets, leveraging both traditional and digital channels.

Key Requirements:

- Experience: 10+ years of proven sales experience in cosmetics/FMCG products with at least 5 years in a leadership role, handling national operations.

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. MBA is preferred.

- Leadership: Strong leadership and people management skills with experience in building and scaling national sales teams.

- Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the cosmetics/FMCG industry, market trends, consumer behavior, and sales tactics.

- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze sales data, market trends, and financial reports to make strategic decisions.

- Communication Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels.

- Results-driven: Strong track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
