National Sales Head - Building Materials/Plyboards Manufacturing Firm
About:
- Our client, a leading name in the plywood and laminate industry, seeks an experienced and dynamic National Sales Head to lead and drive its sales strategy across India. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales leadership, particularly in the building materials, plywood, laminates, or related industries.
- This role is crucial in achieving the company's growth objectives, developing strategic sales plans, and managing a high-performing sales team to deliver exceptional results. The candidate should also have experience managing a P&L portfolio of at least INR 1,000 crores, demonstrating strong financial acumen and an ability to drive profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive national sales strategy to achieve the company's revenue and market share goals. Align the sales strategy with the overall business objectives of the client
- P&L Management: Oversee and manage a P&L portfolio of at least INR 1,000 crores, ensuring profitable growth and maintaining financial health across all sales operations
- Team Leadership and Management: Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team across various regions. Set performance goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide guidance and support to achieve sales targets
- Market Analysis and Expansion: Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify new market opportunities, customer needs, and competitive landscape. Develop strategies to expand market presence and enter new geographical territories
- Key Account Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, distributors, and stakeholders. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and address any client issues or concerns promptly
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the national sales budget, including sales forecasts, pricing strategies, and promotional plans. Monitor and control expenses to ensure profitability
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with marketing, product development, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment of sales efforts with marketing campaigns, product launches, and inventory management
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present regular sales reports, including performance metrics, market trends, and strategic recommendations to the top management
- Compliance and Governance: Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards in all sales activities
Key Requirements & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA or other relevant postgraduate qualifications is a plus
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in plywood, laminates, building materials, or related industries. Must have experience managing a P&L of at least INR 1,000 crores.
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to drive sales and develop strategic business plans
- Analytical mindset with a strong understanding of market dynamics and customer behavior
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
This is a permanent opportunity with the client; the role locations can be Gurgaon, Bangalore, or Chennai.
