Education Details:

- Engineering Degree is a Must, with MBA / PG Diploma in Logistics/SCM (Required)

- CSCP, CPIM, Transportation knowledge, PGDIE, Autocad Designing (Preferred)

Key Responsibilities:

- Strategic outlook for warehousing and Transportation Design, Locations, network and infrastructure

- Design and planning of Storage area and Handling equipment

- Ensure all Logistics and Distribution plans have an integrated approach to the organizations strategic objectives

- Sales and Costs

- Reliability and accuracy of stocks

- Application of Good Warehousing Practices

- Corporate and Legal governance/ compliance

- People management

- Up to date with all legislation related to Logistics and Transportation and labour laws, relevant to this function

- Extensive knowledge of the freight and transport industries

- Ability to recognise and work upon improvement in the areas of increasing customer value and reducing operations cost

Desired Skills & Experience

- Knowledge of Operations Research techniques

- Interpersonal skills and knowledge of other functional areas

- Ability to communicate effectively, motivate other people, manage projects, and work on multidisciplinary teams

- Service Operations -Coping with inherent service characteristics such as simultaneous delivery/consumption, performance measurements, etc.

- Operations Strategy -Consistent and aligned with other strategies and legal requirements.

- Process Design and Improvements -Managing the innovation process

- Hands on Experience in Warehousing and transport management

- Planning and SCM Experience and Knowledge of importing and forwarding

- Proficient with SAP and Logistics systems.

- Up to date with all legislation related to Logistics and Transportation and labour laws, relevant to this function

- Extensive knowledge of the freight and transport industries

- Ability to recognise and work upon improvement in the areas of increasing customer value and reducing operations cost

- Civil Engineering, architectural and drawing skills

- Knowledge on latest trends and developments in construction industry, warehousing process automation

- Knowledge of Quality improvement initiatives like Kaizen, 5 S, Lean Management, Total Cost Management, Six Sigma, Theory of constraints etc

- Knowledge of macro level financial management and IRR, NPV calculations
