Job Summary:
The National Head of Collections is responsible for overseeing and managing the collections function across the country, focusing on maintaining bucket balances, reducing non-performing assets (NPA), and ensuring effective recovery processes.
This role involves leading a team of state heads, managing unsecured collections, implementing tools to minimize recovery losses, and ensuring data accuracy for analytics and legal purposes.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain Bucket Balances and Reduce NPA:
- Monitor and Manage: Oversee the bucket balances and work towards reducing non-performing assets (NPA) on the bank's books.
- Strategy Implementation: Develop and implement strategies to improve collection efficiency and reduce delinquency rates.
- Performance Analysis: Analyze collection performance and take corrective actions to address issues impacting NPA levels.
- Manage Unsecured Collections:
- National Oversight: Manage the entire zone for unsecured collections, ensuring consistency and effectiveness across regions.
- Team Leadership: Lead and support state heads and their teams to achieve collection targets and maintain high performance standards.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve collection processes and strategies to enhance results.
Collaboration with State Heads:
- Target Achievement: Work closely with state heads and their teams to ensure that collection targets are met and compliance standards are upheld.
- Coordination: Facilitate coordination between state heads and other departments to address issues and align on strategies.
- Training and Support: Provide guidance and support to state heads to help them achieve their targets and maintain operational excellence.
Effective Tools and Techniques for Recovery:
- Tool Implementation: Ensure the application of effective tools and techniques to minimize recovery losses and improve collection efficiency.
- Technology Utilization: Leverage technology and data analytics to enhance collection strategies and decision-making processes.
- Best Practices: Implement best practices and industry standards for collections and recovery.
Data Management and Reporting:
- Data Accuracy: Ensure that all data requirements are managed effectively, including inputs needed for analytics, legal processes, and other purposes.
- Reporting: Develop and maintain comprehensive reporting mechanisms to track collection performance, issues, and progress.
- Analytics Support: Provide accurate and timely data for analytical and legal inputs to support decision-making and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- An advanced degree or relevant certifications (e. , CCRA, CFA) is a plus.
- Extensive experience in collections management, with a proven track record of managing large teams and reducing NPA.
- Strong understanding of unsecured collections and recovery processes.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to drive performance and achieve targets.
- Proficiency in data management, analytics, and reporting.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to implement effective strategies and tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with state heads and other stakeholders.
