Job Responsibilities:

- Job title : National Finance and Operations Manager

- Department &Directorate India

- Job grade L3

- Line manager Country Head - India

- Location Mumbai

- Overall Purpose - Manage finance &operational activities as part of the national management team to enable efficient functioning and the continuous improvement of performance

- Facilitate the provision of infrastructure and resources across country operations and taking the lead in decision support

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Performance management and improvement

- Strategic planning

- Financial reporting

- Risk management and internal controls

- Compliance with corporate processes

- Tax planning and statutory compliance

- Payroll, IT, HR and procurement management

ACCOUNTABILITY:

Performance Management and Improvement

- Support the Country Head in formulating plans that will deliver sustainable growth in India;

- Lead the planning process to deliver cohesive tactics that are aligned to the strategy and demonstrate prioritization of resources;

- Model income and targets that are challenging and achievable in the context of the regional plans and strategy;

- Work with the Country Head to cascade the plans down to individual objectives;

- Report on progress against targets and implementation of plans with timely and relevant management information;

- Provide insight on the underlying drivers of growth and engage managers in discussions and actions about what needs to be done to improve long-term trends;

- Identify opportunities to increase effectiveness and efficiency, and work closely with the Country Head and managers to implement ideas that will improve the ability of India to achieve its targets. This can range from process improvements to creating functional dynamics between teams;

- Promote a performance improvement culture and encourage managers to participate in open and honest reviews of performance;

- Be a role model in the adoption of CIMA behaviors and ensure they are adhered to by employees in India.

- Coach managers to write effective business cases. Ensure all cases submitted to SMT have valid financial and commercial justifications;

- Provide the national committee structure with relevant management information to allow them to meet their governance responsibilities;

Financial Accounting:

- Directly responsible for the effective running of country finance activities (either internally or via local accountants) including:

- Accurate monthly financial records

- Statutory financial reporting

- Cash management

- Payroll

- Tax planning and compliance

- Manage the local statutory audits and relationship with external auditors with the objective to minimize issues reported in the management letter;

- Develop and maintain financial policies and procedure manuals in line with the corporate center;

- Identify and implement more efficient ways of producing financial information;

Operational sustainability

- Advise the Country Head on the most appropriate legal footing and assist with devising operational structures that will enable CIMA to grow in India

- Ensure the country operations comply with local laws and regulations;

- Support the teams in contract negotiations to ensure agreements are solid and fair to both parties;

- Drive operational resilience in the country with appropriate level of controls to safeguard CIMA's assets, insurance covers, business continuity plans and risk management;

- Ensure decisions are exercised in an ethical and professional manner. Identify and highlight any issues of non-compliance or unethical behaviour to the Business Integrity Manager;

- Drive adherence to corporate processes, procedures and standards. Develop where appropriate training initiatives;

- Be accountable for the delivery of effective local finance teams, identifying the needs and capabilities required to fulfil those roles;

- Manage direct reports in line with CIMA's policy, procedure and behaviours;

- Build strong internal relationships with staff in the Corporate Centre and external relationships with partners, auditors and bankers;

RISK CLAUSE:

All employees are accountable for identifying risks within the organisation and reporting risks correctly and appropriately. Employees will undertake corrective measures as delegated by Management to mitigate risks in the future.

KEY SKILLS and COMPETENCIES:

- Influencing and leadership skills to deliver results from cross-functional teams;

- Excellent presentation skills (both oral and written) tocommunicate with impact;

- Strong analytical skills;

- Ability to break down complex information so that it can be easily understood by varied audiences;

- Pragmatic judgement when assessing courses of action, with the maturity to trade off commercial and legal imperatives;

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

- Qualified accountant with 15+ years of work experience in a multinational companies; preferably CIMA qualified.

- Experience in international work assignments preferable

- A track record of initiating and implementing efficiency improvements both within and outside own functional responsibilities;

- Working directly with cross-functional teams within a large corporate structure.
