National Credit Manager- New Car Finance

Qualification : Minimum Qualification: Graduate / CA / MBA (Premium Institute).

Vertical : Wheels.

Location : Mumbai.

Department : Asset credit.

Relevant Experience :

- 15-20 Yrs. of experience in handling underwriting and collections of comparable portfolio size.

Functional Competencies :

- In-depth understanding of the Product, market and geographies.

- Analytical skills and understanding of financial statements. Comfortable in working with excel spreadsheets.

- Flair for numbers and ability to track movement of numbers.

- Have a fair understanding of vehicle viability and cash flows.

- Keen knowledge about products of different manufacturers and their variants. Be able to understand technical differences and decide on offering based on the same.

- Ability to mentor and lead the team across sales and credit functions.

Behavioral Competencies :

- Foster collaborative work culture with sales and collection departments.

- Ability to handle the team and keep the team motivated.

- Ensure cordial environment in the all the Branches, be a source of motivation for the team under him, adaptable to changing business requirements.

- Knowledge of CIBIL and other Checks to understand customer's credibility.

Job Responsibilities :

- Financial.

- Responsible for appraising & assessing risks and provide suitable mitigation.

- Responsible for finalizing policies and setting up processes for quality underwriting and ensure implementation of the same.

- Underwriting high value cases and provide exception approvals for day to day transactions.

- Analyze and review the portfolio rigorously and take corrective actions as required.

- Work closely with the Collection and RCU teams to build and grow high quality portfolio.

- Work along with Business teams to ensure proper formulation, fitment, structuring, pricing and execution of transactions based on transaction specific requirements within turn around time.

- Ensure that Cost of Credit and Cost of Collections are within approved budgets.

- Understanding of inherent credit, collateral, operational and fraud risks.

- Good knowledge of legal, Technical and Property documents and identify associated risk.

- Framing & reviewing credit policy / operational policy. Developing new product program in compliance with the company strategy / Policy.

- Managing and complying Over the counter / post disbursal documents and ensuring compliance of company's norms.

Non-Financial Responsibilities :

- Review and recommend changes in the credit and related policies to senior management and ensuring the implementation of the same.

- Work closely with the Collection and RCU teams to ensure high quality portfolio.

- Develop performance matrix for all functions in the department and provide regular feedback and training to improve performance.

- Work with the business team to identify opportunities and develop products and underwriting guidelines to address changing market needs.

- Should highlight any wrong commitments, potential third party transactions and other negative observations without or favor.

- Should be able to inculcate the intelligence to the team in order to multiply efforts.

Compliance & Risk Responsibilities :

- Ensure adherence to KYC / AML screening requirements of the organization.

- Ensure controlled portfolio growth within approved delinquency and loss performance with the support of collections and RCU.

- Review and administer the Credit Programs and Policies within the board approved frameworks and ensure the implementation of the same.

- Ensure that there is no compromise on the Quality of Credit & maintain a healthy portfolio.

- Promote culture of compliance and company's code of conduct through own conduct and by also adopting Au's Dharma.

- Provide inputs to analytic team to build portfolio analytic and scoring models.
