JOB DESCRIPTION
You will be responsible for end-to-end accountability for Credit Operations of Student Loans product. You will recruit, mentor, drive and lead an effective and motivated credit team to achieve targets in credit rating evaluation and underwriting processes.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, build, manage the Credit and Risk framework, policies, and infrastructure for Organization to create the most innovative lending platform.
- You review credit policies with business goals while being up-to-date on competition policies & practices.
- You will manage a team of Credit Operations Officers to ensure better productivity and quality.
- You support the Team in credit rating evaluation and underwriting processes of student loan product.
- You mentor team for managing pre-sanction diligence and post-sanction monitoring of account
- You will train the team of Credit Operations Officers, provide them guidance in day-to-day activities and monitor loan origination malpractices and frauds.
- You will recruit, train, build a high-performing field Underwriting Team for ensuring the adherence of credit policies and processes.
- You will verify the student Loan underwriting process; loan appraisal, appraisal review, review of credit bureau reports and loan application along with KYC and other supporting documents submitted by Sales Managers.
- You recommend or approve Student loan proposals as per the product/policy and as per delegated powers.
- You develop and maintain credit risk strategy and policy by continuous analysis of business and collection trends, risk assessment & mitigation thereof.
- You provide suggestions and work on the Student Loan appraisal system to make the process more efficient to minimize the risk and maximize the quality of the loan portfolio.
- You keep the industry and market changes in mind while recommending and approving cases. Generate market intelligence on emerging risks including competition in our markets.
- You assist management to make loan portfolio quality analysis and share the findings with Leadership for taking required action to improve the quality.

PREREQUISITES FOR THE ROLE:
- The person should be a Graduate/MBA from a recognized institution with a minimum of 15 years of experience in Credit Underwriting in Banks or NBFCs.
- Strong knowledge of the Credit Underwriting process and policy, Risk Management for retail loans.
- Mandatory supervisory experience in Credit Management is a must. The candidate should have handled a team of at least 10-15 members.
- Should have handled Unsecured Loans of ticket s between 50k -10 Lakhs.
- Excellent oral and written communication, with proven skills in consulting with internal business clients and external customers
- Passionate about making a difference and working in a niche segment
