Head Operations

Purpose:

- Leadership responsibility for the overall plant operations to make sure all plant functions operate optimally to achieve the business objectives (initially excluding HR, Finance & Materials)

Accountability:

- To plan, direct, organize, coordinate and control all the functions of the unit (Technicals)

- Accountable for zero incidents, operational efficiency, process improvements, governance and compliance of the plant

- Responsible to ensure that all departments of the unit are functioning properly and effectively in order to achieve the organizational objectives

- Responsible for Liaison with Govt. Authorities and local people

- He is accountable for profitability of plant through better utilization of resources and leveraging his experience in manufacturing / operational excellence

Responsibilities:

- Responsible for P&L of plant

- Direct and coordinate daily operations of the plant to ensure optimum day-to-day operations

- Develop efficiency strategies to ensure that the plant meets production goals and standards at minimal manufacturing cost

- Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results

- Be responsible for production output, product quality and productivity

- Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets

- Erecting & Commission of new plants & machineries

- Managing contracts / negotiation

- Managing brown field project

PROCESS ENHANCEMENT:

- Work closely with quality personnel to ensure product quality

- Monitor wastages to determine areas of improvement and take remedial steps

- Work directly with department heads to coordinate purchasing, production, quality, preventive maintenance, trouble shooting, people matters, distribution and other plant operations

- Institute policies and procedures, train supervisors and administrators to ensure minimum deviations

- Systems improvement - automation / reduction in turn-around time / process improvements / debottlenecking

OPERATIONAL / BUSINESS EXCELLENCE / TQM:

- Driving operational / business excellence initiatives

- Driving continuous improvements - TPM, TQM, etc. (TPM, 5S, Kaizen, Suggestions System, One Point Lessons, Innovation, Quality Circles, etc.).

QUALITY, ENVIRONMENT, SAFETY & SUSTAINABILITY, RCMS, CSR :

- Responsible for upholding safe work environment

- Ensure all members of the manufacturing team are aware of quality, safety, environment & sustainability policies

- Adherence to quality, safety, environment and sustainability standards and ensure compliance

- Managing RCMS

- To organize CSR programs based on local needs

STATUTORY COMPLIANCE:

- Timely and accurate compliance of all applicable statutory compliances

- Regular review of latest amendments under acts and compliance guidelines

- Monitor monthly deviations from the plan and take appropriate corrective / preventive actions to meet annual targets towards realization of unit scorecard

- Deliver bottom-line impact by reducing year on year cost of operations

- Ensure preparation of MIS at regular intervals and draw insights to improve quality of decisions

HPD - RECRUITMENT, RETENTION & CAPABILITY BUILDING:

- Ensure availability of the right talent in each department

- Ensure retention of key talent and hire in case of any vacancies

- Review and monitor performance of team on an ongoing basis and provide requisite developmental support / inputs

- Have a clear talent development plan

- Identify and groom team members for higher responsibilities

- Recommend training as required for team to enhance their knowledge and capabilities

- Address associates' issues or grievances.

- Maintain harmony inside and outside the plant

- Employee engagement, well-being & development

Preferred Experience : Minimum 25 years of experience in Agrochemical / Chemical Manufacturing. Minimum 5 years experience in same level

Must be fluent with the English & Telugu language.
