MYOLO - Vice President - Engineering

What is MYOLO :

- MYOLO is an early-stage consumer product, building 1st ever platform that helps like-minded curated people to meet each other. It is an online/offline platform that helps people to discover people they share interests with, spark conversations and meet in reality at exclusive, interest-based events.

- We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic and experienced engineer, who shares our passion for connecting people of similar interests and is excited by seemingly impossible challenges.

- As one of the first 10 employees at MYOLO, you must feel comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where the solutions aren't already predefined.

- As a Technical Lead, you will be expected to understand and drive the technical direction of the product or company. This involves anticipating the required skills and knowledge in advance, fill gaps, both, in the short-term by taking on distractions and in the long term by mentoring engineers to take up new challenges. You will develop, update, and advocate the technical direction of our platform product.

What you will do :

- Work closely with business, operations, engineering and product teams to understand business requirements, product functionality & product roadmap.

- Mentor engineers in the team with regular feedback to ensure continuous improvement.

- Act as a lead engineer and resolve blockers. Help engineering team stay productive

Requirements :

- 4+ years programming experience.

- 2+ years experience architecting/designing systems from ground-up & leading engineering teams.

- Proficiency writing production-quality code, preferably in Scala, Java, or Python

- Experience with building data API's

- Strong familiarity with AWS (EC2, RDS, S3), Spring JPA, Thymeleaf, JSON, MYSQL, MongoDB, Node.JS, Apache Tomcat8, NginX, Angular.JS and sockets.

- Deep understanding of all things - database- - schema design, optimization, scalability etc, and familiarity with map/reduce programming models

- Excellent communication skills

- You are amazingly entrepreneurial

- You want to help build a massive company

Nice to haves :

- Experience of building a great consumer social product

- Experience with AWS

- Experience with building ML models from the ground up

- Experience working with huge data sets

- Experience with data visualization
