Its Gold loan portfolio has rapidly expanded from INR 3,300 crore in 2009 to INR 26,000 crore in 2013. It aims to expand into new markets and new businesses in the near future as well as consolidate its market leadership in Gold Loans.
Position Summary
- This is a new role and the individual will be responsible for building and operating the WLA business with P&L accountability. Further, the individual is expected to identify new business opportunities in related areas e.g. prepaid cards etc.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design the WLA blueprint for Muthoot Finance
- Design the strategy and operating architecture of the network (scale up, location plan, hardware and software, vendor strategy, revenue innovations etc.)
- Identify changes in branch layouts, infra, operating process and skills required
- Design the pilot approach and measurement
- Deploy the network in the most optimal manner
- Lead all vendor selections and negotiations, including with sponsor bank
- Roll out ATMs in a timely manner at lowest cost
- P&L accountability of the business
- Ensure delivery of P&L targets against plan
- Monitor operations to ensure high customer satisfaction and minimum complaints

- Timely deployment of the ATM network
- Revenue, Profits from the WLA business (Rs Cr)
- ATM uptime (%)
- Customer satisfaction score, # complaints, resolution time, # of regulatory compliance issues
Skills and Requirements
- 10+ years' experience in relevant roles with a reputed bank, preferably in private sector bank / service provider
- Has designed / deployed ATM network for the bank, including tech and vendor engagement
- MBA / CA / B.Tech from good institutes
The professional will also need:
- Sound understanding of the ATM industry, including vendors, technology, revenue drivers
- Deep understanding of business models prevalent in the industry and technologies for ATMs
- Strong business judgment and experience of running P&L in a distributed environment
- Ability to work in a ‘start up’ environment
- Good interpersonal skills, ability to influence peers and senior executives
