Position Title : Head of Pricing (Life Team) Position Reports to: Chief Actuary Position Summary : To support the Chief Actuary in establishing appropriate pricing standards and completing actuarial projects as required. To assist Munich Re India Branch in the development of reinsurance pricing reports, pricing models, business planning activities, quarterly forecasts and designated special projects. Job Location : Mumbai Experience : 7 to 12 years Key Responsibilities : - Support the Chief Actuary in provision of quotations referred to Munich Re, for new treaties or for repricing of existing business, with the aim to achieve a competitive and profitable tender. - Manage the Pricing team on a day-to-day basis ensuring that strategic plans, as set out by the Chief Actuary, are operationalised and delivered according to agreed time, cost and quality criteria - Develop and implement actuarial best practices in product development and pricing, including sign-offs, controls, authority levels and referral triggers - Liason with Business Development team and clients as appropriate - Provide sound actuarial opinion on special projects identified by self, nominated by the Chief Actuary - Monitor development of pricing research, review pricing parameters paper quarterly and draft updates as required. - Development and supervision of resources provided by members of the Pricing Team. - Responsible for development of analytical tools and actuarial models to help obtain maximum value from available information. - Maintain knowledge of current actuarial developments and development in the insurance industry by reading Institute literature and attending sessional meetings - Compliance with Actuarial standards and regulatory requirements. Education &amp; Experience : - Qualified Actuary (preferred) or near qualification (essential) - Preferably 7+ years experience in Direct life office/Reinsurer - Sound knowledge of individual and group risk products in the Indian Life and Health market, including product features, benefits, capital adequacy requirements and reserving approaches - Excellent analytical, problem solving, research and project/ process management skills - Expert knowledge in pricing, product development, risk management and financial analysis - Strong computer skills e.g. MS Excel, VBA, MS Access, Prophet, AXIS, Power BI etc (essential).
