POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Quantitative Equity Research team is responsible for the development of new global equity and strategy indices and ongoing management of MSCI Thematic and Strategy Indices and making enhancements to existing methodologies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The MSCI Quantitative Index Management team in Mumbai will be responsible for:

- Extensive back testing, research and analysis of global equity strategies using historical data and Barra factor models and tools to build new indices and generate investment insights

- Managing ongoing Index reviews and back-testing investment strategies to enhance index methodologies

- Implementation of Index rules in Index production applications

- Collaborate with the global research team to develop innovative equity index methodologies for new equity indices and risk-related products and services

- Lead small project teams and initiatives to launch new index products / solutions leveraging cutting edge Quant Equity Portfolio Management concepts, advanced data mining tools and historical market data sources.

- Periodically interface with key asset owner and asset manager clients globally to present investment solutions

Qualifications:

- 8-10 years of relevant work experience

- Engineer + / MBA / MFE / M.Phil/ Ph.D from top schools; CFA charter holder preferred.

- Strong project management and communication skills.

- Strong Buy-side experience and global investing perspectives preferred.

- Strong skills with tools such as Matlab, MS Excel VBA, SQL, R, etc

- IIT ians are preferred
