Index Quantitative Researcher - (Python or Matlab or R)
- MSCI is looking for an exceptional individual to join the Core Research team in Mumbai. The goals and responsibilities of the team include analytical and empirical research on indexes linked to Factors, ESG and Climate in both equities and fixed income to help institutional clients integrate long-term considerations into their investment process. The team is currently based in London and Mumbai.
- The group is part of MSCI's Global Research and Product Development organization and works closely with other research, product management and client coverage teams to implement the research agenda and benefit from the substantial resources and expertise available within the global MSCI organization.
Your key responsibilities :
- Develop and execute agenda of core research for fixed income investors and publish resulting content pointing investors toward ways to solve their key investment challenges using MSCI tools and research
- Quantitative analysis of fixed income
- Work collaboratively with researchers in ESG, Climate and Analytics business
- Represent MSCI Fixed Income Research our tools and solutions to clients and prospects
- Share knowledge, experience, and research findings internally to build team capabilities
Your skills and experience that will help you excel :
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with extensive experience in data analysis and quantitative models
- Strong working knowledge of linear algebra and statistics
- Excellent computer and statistical programming skills - Python and Matlab preferred, also SQL, R.
- Self-reliance, ability to work independently and within a team
- Critical thinking, curiosity and good communication skills
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS :
- 3+ years of full-time professional experience in fixed income research, strategist, trading and/or portfolio management.
- Bachelors' degree required; Advanced degree in related field is preferred
- Experience with ESG, Climate and fixed income factor analytics is not a prerequisite, but candidate should have a demonstrated interest in how ESG, Climate and factors are integrated into investment decisions
- Familiarity with MSCI tools and research a plus
