Position overview:
The MSCI Global Product Development team is composed of experienced financial professionals who are responsible for not only launching new MSCI index products but also providing support to existing product offering. The Global Product Development team is present in the following locations: New York, Budapest, Monterrey and Mumbai.
MSCI custom indexes leverage MSCI's robust standard methodologies to be the building block for customized solutions to MSCI clients' investment needs.
The Global Custom Index Product Manager will be held accountable on the revenue growth and product development of the custom index business lines.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting and supporting the product development process, support the execution and launch of new products
- Assisting and supporting the definition of the business strategy (e.g. target group analysis, product, pricing, reporting, distribution channels) of new products for the Custom Index business line
- Quickly assess and evaluate key market dynamics (e.g. competitors, trends, regulation) and consolidate these into a competitive business strategy
- Work effectively with colleagues in IT, Product and Project Management, Market Data, Research, Sales/Coverage and the Client Service Organization - to define product requirements, resolve product issues, and deliver new products and/or enhancements
- Participate in the planning and implementation of new products or processes as well as self-motivated project initiative to improve product offering
Desired experience and qualifications:
- At least 7 years of relevant experience in Financial Markets and Technology services
- Understanding of the equity investment management process
- Knowledge and understanding of portfolio construction and financial assets
- Knowledge of product management processes and demonstrated ownership of product through full development lifecycle
- Be able to prioritize effectively and work under time constraints
- Ability to articulate complicated concepts or methodologies verbally and in writing to senior management and clients
- Highly developed organizational and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills, ability to break down complex issues into smaller manageable parts
- Superior knowledge of spreadsheet tools
- Superior written and verbal communications
- Communicate effectively to audiences having differing levels of domain expertise
- Demonstration of increasing levels of initiative and responsibility in current role
- Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, or equivalent experience required
- MS or MBA in finance, financial engineering, economics, statistics, or other quantitative fields a plus
- CFA or FRM designations (or participation in the programs) viewed very favorably Client Experience
- Experience in a consulting or client facing environment providing customer support, integration, and implementation services, Strong servicing mindset &past experience serving external financial institute clients is required
- Possible background includes Product role at either Asset Management firms or third-party vendor platforms that cater services to financial institutions
