- We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly analytical Financial Planning Analyst to join our finance team.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes, as well as assisting in the development of key financial strategies to help drive business performance.
- The Financial Planning Analyst will play a pivotal role in helping the company make informed decisions, optimize financial performance, and ensure that the financial objectives are aligned with the overall business strategy.
- This position will require collaboration with various departments, including operations, sales, and senior leadership, to analyze financial data, provide insights, and help drive the financial planning process.
- The Financial Planning Analyst will also be responsible for preparing financial models, supporting business case analysis, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Support the Annual Budgeting Process: Assist in the preparation and consolidation of the company's annual budget, working with department heads and business units to align financial goals and assumptions.
- Forecasting and Reforecasting: Maintain and update financial forecasts on a quarterly or monthly basis, providing detailed analysis and commentary on variances between actuals and projections.
- Scenario Planning: Develop and analyze financial models to assess the impact of different business scenarios and assist management in making strategic decisions based on financial outcomes.
Financial Analysis:
- Trend Analysis: Perform financial analysis to identify key performance trends, variances, and potential financial risks, providing recommendations for corrective action.
- Profitability and Cost Analysis: Analyze the profitability of various business segments, products, or services, and assist in identifying opportunities for cost reductions or process improvements.
- KPIs and Metrics: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the business, regularly reporting on progress toward financial and operational goals.
Reporting and Financial Modeling:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal stakeholders, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and timely delivery.
- Present findings to senior management with actionable insights.
- Ad-Hoc Financial Models: Create financial models to support business case analysis, new projects, product profitability, and other financial assessments as needed.
- Variance Analysis: Perform variance analysis to compare actual performance against budgeted or forecasted numbers, providing a detailed explanation of deviations and their impact on the company's financial performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Liaison with Business Units: Work closely with operational and business teams to understand their financial needs, gather data, and help them make informed decisions based on financial insights.
- Business Strategy Support: Provide financial input into business strategy discussions, helping to evaluate the financial implications of strategic initiatives and business plans.
Continuous Improvement:
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve the financial planning and reporting processes, working to streamline workflows, enhance data accuracy, and increase efficiency.
- System and Tool Support: Support the finance team in utilizing financial software tools (e. , ERP, FP&A tools) to enhance reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
Compliance and Control:
- Adherence to Financial Policies: Ensure financial planning processes are aligned with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Internal Controls: Help implement and monitor financial controls to ensure the integrity of financial data and the accuracy of financial reporting
