Head - Business Operations

- Zypp is India's first Electric Scooter sharing mobility startup to be featured in top 30 in yourstorys #Tech 30. They were also the winner of #pitchtomove Niti Aayog award as Indias best mobility startup.

- Provides E-Bike, E-Scooter through their technology platform to solve this last mile problem at a very nominal cost.

They do two things :

1. Zypp Rentals

2. Zypp Delivery

How it works :

- The startup allows users to locate bikes around them on its app, unlock the bikes by scanning a QR Code, ride and then park those at their destinations.

- This is used for rental and delivery. Our client is the only firm in Delhi NCR in e-mobility space. Being the first mover there is a scope for occupying the leadership position in mobility space hence this provides a massive opportunity for the candidates to build their career in this futuristic domain.

- Currently operational in Gurugram, Delhi, Noida and parts of Bangalore.

- About the Market Landscape: the Asia Pacific dominates the overall electric motorcycles & scooters market share owing to the strong presence of industry player in China, India, Japan & Indonesia.

- Traffic congestion, rising population, concern regarding the environment and low price of these vehicles compared to conventional vehicles have resulted in strong consumer preference.

Investor : The client was last funded INR15cr by IAN Fund in 2019.

Role Overview : Our client is looking for a passionate, self-driven and experienced Business Operations Leader to join their team.

Key Responsibilities :

1. P & L MANAGEMENT :

- Owning end to an end profit & loss of the specified clusters across specified cities

- Identifying ways to improve the revenue and utilization across clusters

- Controlling end to end operations and costs across all the cost heads - optimizing efficiency and operations.

- Optimize user experience, Revenue & Operational Costs, working within a defined budget - Manage, Control operational receipts & expenses

2. OPERATIONS / SCALE & GROWTH :

- Expanding the business in the city on specified growth roadmaps - identify avenues for growth & collaboration

- Evaluate and roll-out new product features and other innovative offerings, co-ordinate with other departments for launch e.g. Tech, HR, Marketing etc.

- Maintain a strong relationship with B2B partners and customers

- Marketplace operations - Marketplace operations would entail understanding and be sensitized to individual city nuances and managing challenges & spend

- Manage various processes like demand creation, churn management, Availability & Fleet utilization and overall Fleet health

- Manage business-specific operational activities and create and maintain performance standards

- Grow delivery & rental business by strong execution both on the sales side and operations side

- Hustle & Creative Solutions - You will be constantly innovating to manage situations unique to your city

3. VENDOR MANAGEMENT :

- Managing end to end vendors - sourcing, commercial negotiations, performance mgmt., repair & maintain, vendor payments

- Oversee spares requisition, stock & inventory planning, waste etc.

- Strong execution on hiring and utilization of delivery executives and scooters via rental plans

4. PEOPLE MANAGEMENT :

- Lead multiple teams - support team, cluster heads and promoter teams

- Planning hiring needs, managing the capacity & planning for the peak

- Oversee Training & LMS of manpower to deliver service standards

- Identify & communicate product/process needs to team & stakeholders

- Formulating incentive plans and career plans for the team

5. DATA ORIENTATION & USER EXPERIENCE :

- Identify trends, patterns and deep dive on core issues

- Enhance value proposition for riders through improving experience

- Analyzing market-specific data to identify key supply and demand trends.

- The analysis will be key to identifying business challenges and will enable the individual to make market-specific decisions.

6. STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT :

- Stakeholder Management

- Engaging with different stakeholders

- Vendors, property owners, local and central cross-functional teams to deliver the best operational excellence

Requirements, Qualifications and Experience :

- Relevant work experience of 8+ years in Sales and Marketing or Operations with a penchant for Leadership.

- Only IIT, IIM, ISB candidates to apply.

- A competent decision-maker with the ability to create and execute a strategic operational execution plan for the cities.

- A visionary who can foresee the Macro factors affecting the business and strategize preemptively.

- Must have proven negotiation skills and effective communication skills (Oral skills: English and Hindi/Local Language)

- Identifies builds and uses a wide network of contacts with people at all levels, internally and externally

- Must have a good understanding of Service business operations

- Must be from either retail, F&B, mobility background

- Must be passionate and show commitment & dedication towards the company and must be able to take OWNERSHIP and EXECUTE

- The ideal candidate for this role would be someone with strong stakeholder management skills and a good understanding of marketplace-based business models.

- The role would require the candidate to monitor, strategize, execute and grow high potential markets across the country.

- The objective would be to drive growth and capture market share across these markets, ensure compliance across various factors and collaborate with all cities stakeholders to take key growth initiatives.

- The role will provide the candidate significant opportunity to learn through innovation and collaboration with other similar stakeholders.
