Role Summary:
The overall responsibility of Taxation & Compliance including all direct & indirect tax and regulatory compliance matters within the organization. This position requires an in-depth understanding of Indian tax (direct & Indirect) laws, regulatory frameworks, FEMA & Customs compliances and corporate governance. The role includes managing all direct and indirect tax operations, ensuring timely and accurate tax filings, TDS, and maintaining compliance with all applicable local, state, and national regulations. This position will play a strategic role in developing tax planning strategies that align with the company's financial objectives, help minimize tax liabilities and provide all type of legal advice across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Direct & Indirect Tax Compliance:
- Oversee the preparation and filing of all direct (corporate tax, withholding tax) and indirect (GST/ VAT) tax returns.
- Ensure compliance with tax payments, returns, and other obligations within statutory deadlines.
- Handle tax assessments (GST/VAT/Income Tax/Transfer Pricing/TDS/Profession Tax, any other assessment arises from time to time), audits, and inquiries from tax authorities, representing the company during hearings and tax litigations as necessary.
2. Regulatory Compliance:
- Manage corporate governance and regulatory compliance in line with Companies Act, FEMA/Customs regulations.
- Ensure adherence to financial reporting standards, disclosure requirements, and compliance with regulatory filings (MCA).
- Maintain internal controls and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant laws, including labour laws, environmental regulations, and data protection laws (if applicable).
3. Transfer Pricing & International Taxation:
- Develop and implement transfer pricing policies to ensure compliance with Indian and international laws.
- Manage international taxation matters, including cross-border transactions, double taxation treaties, and foreign direct investments.
- Ensure compliance with OECD guidelines on transfer pricing and other international tax rules.
4. Audit Management:
- Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory authorities during audits and inspections.
- Ensure timely completion of tax audits, financial audits, and other statutory compliance audits.
- Address and resolve audit findings in a timely and efficient manner.
5. Stakeholder Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for tax authorities, consultants, and external advisors.
- Prepare and present tax and compliance updates to senior leadership on regular basis or as requested by senior management from time to time, reports to the board, including risks, opportunities, and strategic recommendations.
- Engage with external stakeholders, including tax consultants and regulatory bodies, to stay ahead of regulatory changes.
Key Requirements:
Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) relevant qualification in Taxation/Accounting.
Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in taxation and regulatory compliance, with at least 3 years in a tax leadership role.
Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of Indian direct and indirect tax laws, including Income Tax, GST, VAT, Customs, and Excise.
- Strong knowledge of corporate governance regulations, Companies Act, and related compliance frameworks.
- Familiarity with international tax laws, transfer pricing regulations, and double taxation treaties.

- Proficiency with tax software and ERP systems (SAP).
