Position Description: Sales Force Operations Manager

By helping microfinance institutions (MFIs) provide microloans for clean energy technologies, those in the greatest need can purchase solar lighting for their home or business, and smoke-free stoves for their kitchens. With microfinance, clean energy technologies become more affordable than wood or fossil fuels while offering a cleaner, safer and more efficient energy source. More than 200,000 households have already adopted clean energy as a result of MEC's financing program in Asia, Africa and Latin America.
Opportunity:
- MicroEnergy Credits offers a rare opportunity to work in a lean fast growing, early stage company in the social enterprise space
- As the Operations Manager you will report to the CEO
- You will recruit, train and manage a motivated and well trained field-based sales and marketing staff for clean energy products based at the branches of MEC partner financial institutions, often in semi urban and rural locations
- Your efforts will improve company performance in sales and after-sales service
- You will use Credit Tracker, a cloud based supply chain logistics technology to provide real-time visibility into sales and after sales monitoring.
- Your sales team will meet the highest standards of professional ethics and service orientation.
- You will work with MFI-based program managers to plan for, hire and deploy sales and marketing staff
- You will work with local clean energy product distributors to schedule deliveries of clean energy products to clients
- You will work with managers of financial institution branches to coordinate demonstration schedules and loan submission processes.
- You will work with the MEC technology development team to continuously improve Credit Tracker’s capabilities for optimal use.
- You will work with the MEC carbon manager to efficiently collect data as needed for carbon credit monetization.
Key responsibilities:
- Hire, train and manage sales field force.
- Coordinate with local program managers to establish last-mile distribution logistics process at each bank branch.
- Coordinate with local program managers to deploy Credit Tracker supply chain logistics technology.
- Clearly document operational processes in manuals.
- Provide weekly sales reports
- Support carbon data collection
Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience managing a field force in a rural or semi urban location, for example as a microfinance institution regional manager or as a regional sales manager
- 2+ years experience in marketing and sales
- Track record of successful sales management
- Knowledge of multiple Indian languages a plus
- Knowledge of microfinance
- Experience with mobile technology
- Structured thinker, management consulting experience a plus
- Ability to work in a decentralized, global team
- Team player, problem solver, social mission-oriented
