Internal Capex (All Business Units):
- Ownership of project data to understand project Capex by category (BCC) and Platforms
- Ownership of Capex inputs into Red Book / Board reports
- Perform month on month variance analysis to highlight significant variances and provide explanations
- Compile and monitor project cost to complete calculations and identify month on month variances
- Challenge Project Managers to provide explanations of variances identified
- Understand and comment on key drivers of Capex spend
- Consolidate explanations from multiple projects, across multiple categories and summarise this for an executive audience
- Build capability to report on Return on Investment for project Capex
- Creation and ownership of reporting on Internal Capex KPIs (e.g. Capex as % of revenue)
- Support a better understanding of project related benefit realisation and link project Capex to project benefit e.g. incremental revenues, cost reduction etc.
- Drive improvements to month end reporting – enhanced data quality and data presentation
- Provide value-add commentary, insights and analysis on Capex movements and forecasts
- Build reporting infrastructure to support Corporate reporting through to Project Manager reporting
Success Driven Capex:
- Ownership of month end Success Driven Capex reporting and analytics including inputs for Board, Corporate, Divisions and ISU Finance.
- Ownership of Success Driven Capex data cube / model including updates and modifications
- Perform month on month variance analysis to highlight significant variances and provide explanations.
- Undertake ad-hoc deep dives based on requests from Business Units / Divisions / ISU Finance. Develop an understanding of spend trends, risks and opportunities in overall capex spends and highlight to CoE management.
- Creation and ownership of reporting on Success Driven Capex KPIs (e.g. Payback, Average Cost Per Order)
- Gain a good understanding of commercial processes (e.g. B&T delivery teams, Managed IT, Inventory issues etc) and the key drivers of Success Driven Capex spend.
- Provide value-add commentary, insights and analysis on Success Driven Capex movements and forecasts
- Drive improvements to month end reporting and analytics – enhanced data quality, data granularity and data presentation
- Challenge Service Build & Transition to provide explanations of variances identified
Specifications
- 5-8 years of total work experience in the fields of business analytics and reporting and CAPEX control
- Strong knowledge of systems, Processes and Reporting.
- 2 years hands-on experience of Oracle Project Accounting and other relevant modules is essential.
- Knowledge of BI tool - Business Objects reporting is desirable
- Must be a Rank holder CA or should be graduate from a Top ranked DU collage
- Must be from a top Telecom or FMCG multinational
